Best episode of this podcast so far! Would watch Crispy as new host of Who Ones (where he interviews Doctor Who guest stars over increasingly spicy wings).
This is something I also saw during series 12 and season 1: The series was airing. People were talking about how good it is, and how it's an improvement over the last one. A disappointing finale comes along making people retroactively believe that the whole thing was shit all along. They sort of just forget all the things they had liked about it before because the series arc was poorly resolved. Like I will never believe a season with Boom, 73 Yards, Dot and Bubble, Rogue, and the Legend of Ruby Sunday all back to back was a bad season.
The music battle felt a bit floaty and I didn't feel any real stakes. But I like the episode, especially now we've got a full season. Loved I've got a Dog

100% agree on the first take. Space Babies was a mid episode. Nothing special but it does what it says: it’s Babies in Space and it’s fun and lighthearted, easy to watch. The Devil’s Chord on the other hand was my absolute least favourite episode of the season. I liked Jinx’s performance and SOME of the cinematography but mostly I was sooooo bored watching it. I didn’t believe the threat for one second, which is so important for an episode with a big bad villain. I think a good way to put it is that Space Babies was silly and wanted to be silly but The Devil’s Chord was silly when it wanted to be serious.
I loved _73 Yards._ Ruby was a bit dark, though, letting that campaign volunteer be sexually abused for her plan (and kind of unnecessary too?). But for the most part.
I would not want David Tennant back he's had his time i didn't even want him back as the "14th" Doctor because i'm on the religion that the Doctor should be a new person each time he/she regenerates because the entire point of regeneration is having a new body and the old one dies go and watch "Planet of the Spiders" all that is explained properly than NuWho can explain it RTD should have had Ncuti straight after Jodie Whittaker regenerated. As for the timeless child while i may disagree that it should be retconned it should be ignored like the half human thing from the TV Movie and just have the Doctor to being back to a Time Lord as he/she has been for the last 60 years all this adding new lore to the Doctor's character was totally unnecessary and unwanted nobody asked for it.
Definitely agree that Jodie should have regenerated into Ncuti. I think if RTD really wanted to bring back Tennant for the 60th, the 14th Doctor should have been an older Meta-Crisis Doctor in Pete's World, teaming up with Ncuti's Doctor (the real Doctor) to beat the Toymaker.
I don't undestand how people can possibly like "Space Babies" it was one of the worst episodes in the history of the show even "The Twin Dilemma" was better than "Space Babies" it's an episode for 5 year olds the story was terrible and it was juvenile even if you moved the episode to the middle of the season it still would had been a shit episode.

Boom is overrated. It was a good solid episode, but it was not a 10/10 and I think people just had moffat colored glasses on
