Pearson won the drivers championship 3of the 4 years he attempted by running the full schedule. It's anyone's guess how many races he'd have won if he hadn't ran a partial schedule most of his career. He was the best to ever sit behind a wheel,imo.R.I.P. David,You are sorely missed.
Saw him win the 1976 Daytona 500 on TV. Then later that year got to see him win the Ontario 500 in my neck of the woods. Loved his dig at Richard for his big engine hehe. Ya hung on far too long King. RIP David Pearson. You were the Boss.
Rest in peace silver fox. Crazy to think that I used to live about 5 miles from where you grew up. You were a Damn good racer and a great person in general.
RIP Silver Fox, you were my first driver that I ever pulled for, and you will always be my favorite the reason, he raced clean, nice guy, loved his scotch tape on the dash to keep his cigs in place. Alot of people say that I talk just like him, anything compared to this legend is nothing but a great thing. I will miss you David Pearson and I know you were always a good spiritual family man, and I could not ask for a favorite celeb with, Paul Newman and Herschel Walker. In my book, you were the best ever 105 wins, and the king is a class act to.
My first race was the world 600 1976 i was 5 David was my driver!! He Inspired me to getting into go carts and getting into racing and running the best I could
I got to meat him a few months to a year before his death. Me and him were fairly good friends because we used to see each other every day a place called The Dairy Dream, an old ice cream place. I would talk to him as best as I could, his mental health wasn’t too good a year ago. I am honored that at the age of twelve I, a little owl country boy in South Carolina, got to meet my idol...
RIP Mr. Pearson. The sport just aint the same without your type of character. You were strong, Polite, Handsome, Onry and Mean when needed. AS much as I love the 43 and what he has done to the sport, You were and are the greatest good ol boy to get behind the wheel. I always will admire the way you kept calm and polite as opposed to the guys today who the sport seems to embrace for their foul mouth's and poor sportsmanship. Love ya buddy, wish I coulda sat down with you and shot the shit for even 5 minutes. #21ForEver
I’m a relatively new nascar fan. & learning about these legends & the history of the sport is my favorite part of being a fan. Thanks for uploading this 🙌🏽🙏🏽
As many times as I've watched NASCAR in the last 47 years,I remember Richard's red n blue dodge, because my gramp had dodges, but I can remember the woods brothers # 21 red and white ford, winning a lot of races and being out in front of the king more than any other car....THANKS
He became my favorite driver the first race I saw him run at Smoky Mountain Raceway in Tennessee. He was driving that red & white 65 Dodge #6 for Cotton Owens. And I loved that Holman Moody Talladega Ford.
He was a great driver and a cool man! He was a hard man to beat!! A true legend in this sport!
david pearson was my hero and still is my hero
Same here
There may have been four or five as good as David Pearson but nobody was better

I grew up next to Cotton Owen's. Witnessed many great drivers. Pearson was the most down to earth quality driver I saw at that shop.
I was a big Pearson fan and was at the 79 Rebel 500 . . . ugh! Those were the days. I miss it.

Pearson and the Wood Brothers were the reason I followed NASCAR. One of my childhood heroes along with Glenn and Leonard Wood!
Got to see them win the 1976 LA Times 500 at Ontario Speedway. What a thrill after watching that Daytona finish in Feb.
RIP David Pearson and Godspeed , you were one of the best of all time.
R.I.P David Pearson :'( You will be dearly missed.

RIP Silver Fox
Rip pearson
Back then Texas had the track in Bryan. TX not Dallas. Was called Texas World Speedway
Rest in peace, David Pearson. Only man to be second to Richard Petty in wins at 105.
I love the video keep up the good work man
Pearson and Petty👍🏼
The Silver Fox is the only driver besides The King to win more than 100 NASCAR races
Look at how many races it took Pearson to win that 105 and how many races it took Petty to win 200 and you'll clearly see who the better driver was.
@@Miatacrosser Yeah, Pearson had less than half of the starts that Petty had (576 vs 1,184)
@@CJODell12 Pearson's average finish is 6.2, Petty's 9.5
@@lw97nilslinuswhitewaterweb15 Actually, those are their average starts. Petty's average finish was 11.3. Pearson's average finish was 11.0.
rich slid up into david comin off 4. look at this tape.
Imagine, Pearson, Bobby Allison & Dale Sr, starting right of the bat these days in top notch cars, instead of the junk they ran in at the start?
Petty got loose off of 4 and slid up.
RIP
Could out drive anybody.
