“Gladiator” is a 2000 American-British film set in Roman times. It is a fictional story inspired by Emperor Commodus and his father Marcus Aurelius. The film won 5 Oscars. The soundtrack which was composed by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score. This arrangement includes the main theme ‘Now We Are Free’, which is also used in the 2024 film Gladiator II. The dynamic arrangement for concert band, fanfare and brass band is written by Frank Bernaerts.
