In my eyes you represent what is so wonderful about London and Britain. Ive a great grandfather buried in london a grandfather born there. When i see this city producing i interesting ideas providing a home and identity to people like you it fills me with a sort of joy and hope. And of course your Russian well what could be more British or Londonian than new comers joining our world! You sound very very poorly. I hope you have a good gp who will advocate for you and get you the specialized medical care you need . I hope that everyone has a good gp and access to specialists. And you never know despite frailty you might endure to become a horrible old man like me . Its fun , work at your health and dont be shy about getting help. Life is so quirky so surprising you want to care for yr health and see old age , there are always new adventures . Good luck fellow Englishman.

We do love you and we know you love our Beautiful Community. My adult children often express disaffection with the current state of affairs, bordering on despair. I tell them that for their sake and the sake of their children (13 grandkids so far), they must have hope and must act effectively to bring about a better world. You, Vlad, are an extremely influential voice, since you speak from scholarship, wisdom and exude a sense of serenity that we pray is infectious. I'm torn between two feelings: (1) deep admiration for the boldness of Ukraine's move, plus their civilised behaviour towards civilians and POWs; (2) immense fear of some extreme punitive response that Russia might be planning. It's sad to see you so low Vlad, especially in contrast to the recent rather upbeat you. Of course, total unpredictability is intrinsic to the nature of that wretched bloody condition.
