The fact that so many media is calling it an Iranian attack is infuriating. It’s a retaliation against Israel’s attack against the consulate, which is against the Geneva convention. Yet, crickets about that by the western countries and media.
I served in the Multinational Keeping Force in 1982 in Beirut and I clearly remember my dislike for the Israeli army since then. They were accomplices to the Lebanese Christian militia massacre in the Palestinians refuge camp of Sabra and Chatila. Nothing has changed. They have always been the oppressors claiming to be the victims.

If we take the current Israeli govt at its word that the stated aim was to recover the hostages and secure safety for Israel then no, these aims have not been achieved.
However if we go by the subtext that accompanies this war that includes ethnic cleansing and genocide, well that goes on apace.

Arguably Israel has failed at that too. There has been no flight of Palestinians out of Gaza, and with a Rafah invasion looking less likely by the day, it doesn't seem like there will be one either. All diplomatic attempts to secure sufficient international support for "temporary" evacuation to somewhere else than Gaza has failed too, the Israeli government isn't even trying any more to promote any idea of "voluntary" resettlement.

It was a relief to hear your concise summary of it all, as it was indeed revealing. I thank Goodness itself for your strength, and absolute conviction for fair treatment to each and all. The beacon of truth light and justice can only ever grow stronger now. Equal rights for everyone, end to occupation.
All empires fall eventually. The only way for Israel to secure its future is to seek peace with the Palestinians- move back to 1967 border line.
