Before I Can't Explain The Who was Roger's band, but as soon as the band manager, Kit Lambert, found that Pete was a talented songwriter he started to preassure him in coming with the band's new material. So in that regard there are two aspects to consider, one, that as soon as Pete found that John Entwistle could also write, he trusted him with filling the track lists when he felt artistically crushed (Cousin Kevin and Fiddle About being the best examples) and second, that he was the last memeber of the Who to make a solo album, because all of his focus was into writing songs for the band. P.s. I'm not being sarcastic. It's just a literal statement.
How he plays the bass has been echoed in metal as well. It reminds me of a slower version of the style Ace of Spades opens with.

Ah, what to do when your heckler is also your drummer?
'Boris the johnson' ('sung-to-the-tune-of' of 'Boris the spider')
[Note: "Johnson" is common 1850s-1990s slang for 'penis'.]
Look, he's driving me up the wall
Messed up hair, very small
Now he's in over his head
Hanging by a little thread
Boris the johnson
Boris the johnson
Now he's plopped another deplore
Heading for the Commons' door
Doesn't care any degree
Soon be gone now, bloody flea
Boris the johnson
Boris the johnson
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
In the garden having a ball
Doesn't have a clue at all
His hair is shed, all over the floor
Doesn't show on the Commons floor
Boris the johnson
Boris the johnson
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
He's heading for a sticky end
Don't think he will ever mend
Never more will he crawl 'round
He's headed to be uncrowned
Boris the johnson

uno de los primeros Growls :v
What a crazy idea to write a song about a spider-unless it's meant the car- but this is the kind of ideas a genius has
You rock you do
The Who are timeless.
happy birthday john!
JOHN
wtf never thought death growls had evet been used in rock \m/
hubert gagné They were the first to actually use growls in music overally.
hubert gagné Come on man. Pink Floyd did it almost 50 ys ago too.
Death'n'roll and death rock are the genres for you
Nekros97 Mongolian throat singers did it first
there is evidence that the vikings used death growls in their music.
The glue of da Who! Cupholders: classy, man
Great tune!
0:59 my favorite part,he does the metal growl which made other metalheads do that!
Love this song my fav ox song
I love Ox' humour!
And I love how he can't sing the "R" alsways singing "fwlend" (also in whiskey man)
In the end :D
John: Thank you, thank you
Keith: Thank you John! Thank you for...? I didn't get that :(
I think he says "Thanks a hell of a lot... "
Where's He Gone Now, I Can't See .@TheWho
