"I really didn't need it, but I thought it would be fun"...
I find myself saying that quite often.

Nice find. Love the old electronics kit.
    Cds is a light sensor.
"A CdS cell is a large area photo resistor, made by depositing doped cadmium sulfide on a ceramic substrate. The CdS cell resistance changes in proportion to the amount of visible light; this allows more or less voltage/current to appear at the input of an electronic switching circuit."

Thanks. That's very cool. It's also cool that it still works after all these years!

That vintage electronics kit is sweet! So many projects with not too many components. I got to get me one of those. Thanks for sharing Dan!

I really do think I will learn a lot going through some of the experiments. That one looks a little simpler than the other one I had. Both should be fun

Wow my brother and I had that same 150-1 kit back in the 70’s.

I'm looking forward to messing with it.

I owned that 150 in1 kit in the 70s... I relay learned a lot from it and went on to a career in electronics troubleshooting in the 80s. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for watching! I learned a lot of the basics from a really similar kit.

The Weston is likely pretty accurate -- the perceived low reading is due to not taking the load of the meter itself into account. What you have is battery across two resistors: the meter's DC resistance + the series resistor you have added. The series resistance of the meter is normally on the faceplate/scale. You've probably noodled that out in the passing two years....

Would love to see your resistor and component organization

CdS = cadmium sulphide. It's a light dependent resistor.

Thanks! I probably should have known that :)
