Hi everyone! Margarita here👋- I wanted to correct two things I said in the video: 1. That’s Elvis’s hand on Hal’s shoulder in the book (I accidentally said ‘Bernard’s’ in the video) 2. Mary Pickford’s birth name was: Gladys Marie Smith - (not ‘Love’ as I said in the video accidentally as well) Also, head over to our Instagram page: @Those.Elvis.Girls - as I will post the blinged-out Lansky’s rhinestone jacket that I talked about loving on an Elvis movie goer at the premiere & a few photos & videos from the Elvis Movie premiere in Memphis June 2022 with the Presley family, cast of ‘Elvis’ & Jerry Schilling! Otherwise, hope you all enjoy this video! We love & appreciate every one of you dearly!😘💖✨⚡️
I just watched this entire video and I must say wow! Great job ladies! & I’ve been a Mary Pickford & Elvis fan all my life and never knew Mary Pickford’s birth name was also Gladys Smith😲! Thank you Margarita for sharing that Elvis knowledge with us! I went all my life without knowing that and I’m an old lady! You three are young, beautiful and smart ladies and I’m very glad I came across your Elvis channel! Ya’all are refreshing! TCB!
It is so refreshing to hear a podcast about Elvis that doesn’t slam his immediate family. I hope you keep giving these interviews from people who are so uplifting. So much needed in today’s world!
Hi guys , I was lucky to meet Bernard Lansky in the early 2000’s (25th anniversary) a lovely man and took time to talk to you all about Elvis. Beautiful clothing fit for a king ❤
I LOVE this podcast with Mr. Hal✨I love fashion and Elvis was such a fashion Icon and Lansky Brothers was such an important part in the history of Elvis becoming a fashion Icon⚡️Mr. Hal is an amazing storyteller recounting the stories about Elvis⚡️⚡️⚡️
This is another great interview. I can only imagine that the senior Mr. Lansky must have been thrilled to see the then, unknown, Elvis and Isaac Hayes become stars. And, we all loved the Elvis movie.
Hal is living history. He loves to talk Elvis. What I love about Hal is that he talks to you like you’re a longtime friend of his . It’s the Memphis way. I am unapologetically obsessed with all things Lanskys ♥️ Excellent job Those Elvis Girls!!! You guys are slaying the questions!!! Hal is priceless!!!
Great interview with Hal!!! I am super impressed with the guests you are showcasing on your channel. Hal is always so personable and full of energy. Elvis shopped for a lifetime with Lansky's not just because Bernard treated him with respect and dignity, but because Bernard extended his welcome and respect to every one, just like Elvis did. But why was Elvis drawn to Lansky's in the first place? Why was Elvis standing outside those windows? Dewey Phillips, the DJ who jumpstarted Elvis's career by playing That's Alright over and over and over the first time it was ever featured on the radio, shopped and proudly wore Lansky's. Dewey and Elvis started hanging out, but Elvis was still cash poor even though his first few songs were taking over the airwaves. Dewey gave Elvis some of his used Lansky's clothes. To Elvis, clothes were extremely important. Elvis did not have a closet full of clothes like most of us have today. Elvis had a limited number of items and could tell you in minute detail about each one and probably count them all on two hands. When Dewey gave Elvis clothes, Dewey made it possible for Elvis to hit his next stage show with pride in his appearance. Elvis never forgot what Dewey did for him. Prior to purchasing his clothes at Lansky's, Elvis opened a credit account in 1951 at Federal Credit Clothing Store on Main Street in Memphis. Elvis and his cousin Gene both opened an account and bought clothes the same day. Gene later married the girl who took their credit applications after she turned Elvis down for a date. When Elvis really started to come into money and remembering how much new clothes meant to him when he was struggling, Elvis began giving away his clothes to his friends, much like his friend Dewey did for him. Elvis brought it around full circle. Keep up the great work!
It's so true!! Is clothes were so well curated and chosen and very very special!! Thank you for the support. It really means a lot! Are trying to showcase special guests who knew Elvis and tell the stories that people might not know ❤️🙏
Great interview, ladies! Hal is definitely a character (along with his dad, Bernard)! Can't wait to see who you have on the channel next. And this is great - "Come on in and shake the hand, that shook the hand, that shook the world". Fantastic!
