Thank you thank you thank you thank you for this! I have a 2021 Dell Inspiron 15 5510 LED non touch screen. Very similar to yours, my motherboard was 'slightly' different ( 95% match) . Cracked my original screen via freak accident.... Ordered a new screen and followed you along during your video step by step. my new screen works perfect! saved myself $250 from a repair shop 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
I really appreciate you posting this video. With no previous laptop repair experience, I just replaced the screen on my Dell Inspiron 15 5515 successfully simply by following your video. Thank you
This was extremely helpful especially for the kind of computer I have. No one else showed what to do if the bezel doesn't come off so easily. Also I learned something new, thank you and u now have a new sub 👍
At 00:09:32 you need to pull the tags down slowly and the adhesive comes out easily and slowly. Pull straight down the way, not out the left or right side. Like the new wall hooks from 3M that don't leave a mark on the walls - simply pull one direction down for the left and right tags and the screen just lifts out. Hope that helps.
Thank you very much i already just finished my replacing my dell inspiron 15 5518 it was the same as 5500 i followed you step by step and i have done it just now thank you again 😊
4:28 thank you for showing the hinge on the display connector - Dell doesn't even mention that little retention bar in their service manual... I could've broken a display I was trying to salvage
as you saw, he did try to remove the connector without releasing the retention lock, suprized he didn't riped it. also the manual does clearly show how to do this and does show to first lift this little lock.
Thanks for the video.. most LCD screen replacement videos for Inspiron 15 are not accurate for the 5510, since it doesn't have screws holding the monitor and the battery removal is different. I was wondering what type of transparent tape did you use to cover the connector (not the double sided!). Thanks
Thank you so much for making this LCD video - yet I have gone thru 2 new displays, replaced video cable and get the 2 amber/7 white flashing diagnostic by the power jack - get no display, fan initially starts then stops. I have tried to recycle, and wondering if there is an issue with the lid sensor/reed switch (where to find it). Does the base cover have to be reinstalled for LCD to work. The laptop was dropped and the original display was still working although damaged (non-touchscreen). I've been stuck on this and not sure how to get past this diagnostic. I am now subscribed - also a tech in Wisconsin (USA). Thanks!
@@NirajG16 Hi. Yes, this video is very helpful. Once you do it once, you will see that you can actually do it without taking apart the entire laptop, but I do recommend that you take it apart - it's safer that way. If you have any questions let me know, I can try to help
Ended up using a kit that came with 2 mm tape, worked well enough. Without this video there's no way I would have been able to do it, so thank you for all the details!
That wasn't a very good thing to say or assume... when you said if you are not a repair shop and you are going to attempt this repair... "Don't... you will damage your computer" this is not a difficult repair for anyone with basic do it yourself skills.... anyway other then that derogatory comment I want to say pretty good video.. they only thing I would recommend to those watching.. which to me seems kind of obvious and that would be to put the double sided tape on before connecting the monitor.. it will be much easier then trying to hold up the display and work under it. Thank you for your post
Thanks! Followed step by step and my laptop is working like a charm again 🙏
Thank you, Frimley - pretty easy to do with correct tools. Tools not overly expensive. Your links very helpful. Very Happy.

Thank you for your guide and recording the whole process! It is very helpful.
Thank you for the video. I was having trouble figuring out how to disconnect the screen connector.
What's the name of the black rolling cutting tool that you use to open the bezel
Thank you also for very professional video manual. It is better to know how disconnect cables without damaging them :-)

surprised the lcd connector worked after you mangled it that way, both on the mobo and the panel.
Thanks for the video! Just repaired mine and saved a bunch of $
I am replacing the top cover, but not sure how to remove the camera. Any suggestions?
How much does the full body panel costs?

What is the part number on that LCD screen?
What is the price for Dell 5509 LCD screen?
where did you buy the replaced LCD?
what width vhb tape is that?
What's the width of the tape you're using on the side bezel? Is it like 2 mm?

Great video! Cheers!
Where can I purchase a new screen?

Always best to disconnect the battery first to avoid any issues.
