- The Homecoming Friends share songs that serve as a compass for the journey. This new project features a range of songs, everything from Randy Travis' "Feet On The Rock" to a saxophone medley with Boots Randolph to the Don Francisco classic, "He's Alive." Helping us deliver truth and hope into the trenches are Alicia Williamson, Russ Taff, Sarah DeLane and Ivan Parker. Also captured on this CD, taped at the Indiana Roof Ballroom, are our beloved friends, Jake Hess, Hovie Lister and the Happy Goodmans.
My Father wrote in 2 journals about my Mother.
She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in her mid 50's and when she was 70 she succumbed to that dreaded disease.
My Father's journals were so sweet and emotional to read.
He longed to take her home to be with him.
They have been together in Heaven since 2014.
They say there is no crying in Heaven, but I firmly believe in my heart that when my Mom went to Heaven that she cried when she realized that my Dad took care of her for 9 years.
He was at the Nursing Home every day spending time with her, talking to her, playing music CD's for her.....even playing the guitar for her.
He loved his wife, my Mother, so much.
When she passed away he was never the same again.
I miss them so much.
At my Mom's funeral, my Dad had those journals on the table for people to read.
One of our close family friends said that my Mom and Dad's relationship is like the movie, "The Notebook".
I have never seen it.
I don't want to.
I will be an emotional wreck if I was to watch that.
I asked my Dad if he would write his story.
He never got a chance to.

I actually met her several years ago at a Christian Women's Conference in Birmingham Alabama and she was so amazing! Such a sweet and humble woman! I still have her autograph.

Wow. Thank you Lisa for that stirring story. Though it’s been a few years since you taped this segment God still spoke directly to me through you. I’m a grandmother to two sweet babies. And I want to write to them in a journal but keep putting it off. God used you to encourage me to do it! Thank you Lisa and Thank you LORD!

I always thought she was an identical person who was the most popular girl all thru school. They could pass as sisters or even twins. Matter a fact everyone in school called this girl Blair and to see the real Blair (Lisa) and what a pleasant young Christian she is. I always knew she was raised right. She had a good home I'm sure of it. I'm very proud that she never gave into the pressures of fame. Love you Lisa Welchel.
PS. The only difference is the girl that looks like Lisa's twin acts like BLAIR and always has. Very much snobbish but I still love her. I love everyone the same. There was a time I had more money than I knew what to do with and I know I became somewhat of a snob. God has a way of reminding you that material things will come and go and people will come and go in life but God never changes Praise God. I'm in the worst condition in my life and you'd never know it unless I say something. I lost my best friend my Mom and that pain is so deep it's almost unbearable. I'm so broke I don't know how or when I'll ever be able to live on my own again and I want to so bad. I'm in bad health from a blood clotting disorder is reeked havock on my body. But I'm a Survivor. God knows every need.

Can't help but think how "good" is not the word people seem to think it is, based on it's usage here below. GOD is truly GOOD. That raises my estimation of it's real meaning far higher. What a God we have as our FATHER, even, for those who receive Him by faith!!

Too many mystery of faith we can not understand, thank you for sharing this. From also used to be little kids teacher. God is awesome, indeed. God bless you all there even though I don't know how many are still remain alive.

I hope that I’m not alone but I haven’t heard of the Facts of Life show. What was it about? My mom talked about the Mickey Mouse Club all the time. Her story is really cool. What a testimony.❤️
So The Facts Life is a TV Sitcom from and the 70's and 80's that tells the story of a group of teens who attend an all-girls boarding school under the wing of Headmistress Edna Garrett. It was also the spin-off of Diff'rent Strokes with Gary Coleman, in which Edna was originally a maid to the Drummond Family. In The Facts of Life, Lisa played the role Blair, who was the queen bee of the school and who often clashed with the girls, particularly the character of Jo Polniazcek. Lisa was on the show from 1979-1988 following her time as a Mousketeer. Hope this answered your question.
Just when you think I've seen em all! I've NEVER seen this one before. I saw Lisa Welches's name so of course I had to come and see what it was!
What's the name of this video?
There were two videos released from this particular recording. One's called "Journey To The Sky" and the other called "Passin' The Faith Along". I THINK this is from the Journey video, but I may be wrong. The funny thing is, my family owns a lot of Gaither videos, and we knew about this one, but we've never gotten it for some reason.

It absolutely broke my heart when she divorced her pastor/husband after 23 years of marriage and a number of children. I just couldn't believe it!😭💔
Its not our business, lets just pray for them.
We don't know why they divorced. We shouldn't judge her about that.

@@tiffanymorgan6562 Well, let's just put it this way, she was at a church homecoming honoring his grandparents and she did not want to be there, it was the way she was projecting. She was rude to my 6 year-old niece.
Then right before the divorce she had said she wanted to start acting again, then right after, she was on Survivor.
The only time he sat with her was in church, he did not interact with her after that. So there were issues then.
