I'm asking the question because I just bought a C4 Gr Picasso with 1.6 THP 165 engine, with 158.000 kms , I would like to perform some preventive actions to keep the engine good

Hi,
You should only replace the valve if the membrane is torn. Common symptoms include a whistling noise, unstable RPM at idle, increased oil consumption, or error code P0171.
A simple way to check is when the engine is hot and running: remove the oil dipstick and cover the hole with your finger. If you hear a whistling sound from the valve cover, it’s a sign that the valve needs replacement.

Yes, there is a small leak because of oil vapors escaping from it and condensing. I think it is normal.
