My oldest uncle drove the tier 6 tank (staghound/hummer) in 1948/1949 in the Dutch West Indies. So that has to be in my tank collection. Nice video Quickybaby
@@bigtimemegaproductions he is Dutch. I think its a lot worse for the game's health that they come in as useless and you can only play the several years old lines most of the time. The chinese bz line is useless too, i bet they will ruin the new japanese heavies too. The only tech three that is useful and was added recently is the italian td line.
I think with better camo and traverse speed, or I guess degrees of wheel turn to make tighter circles, and better terrain resistance they would be more pleasant to play and not overpowered but still lack an identity. Im going through the Staghound now, and the Cromwell is my most played tank. Glad you brought up that it does everything the cromwell does...worse.
Hopefully not only tier 10 but 8 and 9 as well. Your input when grinding those is valuable to me at least. Love hearing bout the strength and weaknesses about each vehicle. I may not always agree but that is what makes it great. Give 'em hell on the battlefield!
Biggest issue I have with the British wheeled MTs is that when you lose you wheels there is just a "whoosh", but your commander says nothing. The deflate sound can be hard to hear when there are other noises around.
I am at tier 7 and the 5 had a learning curve - then I decided to take the line up as a challenge. It is slowly getting better but you have to be a very cautious mid range sniper. I explained it to my friend as the Titanic trying to turn.
Its a shame, as in real life the AEC, Saladin and Staghound were very nimble, for sone reason WG didn't bother to watch the hours of video footage of them driving, lazy addition to the game imo.
It’s hard to find that balance between having a few things better than most others and having too many things. This line gives us a reason to carry and shoot HE ammo again at least.
If the historic ones could turn as tightly as they actually could in real life it would help, the Saladin has 4 turning wheels, and can pretty much turn in a circle, all of the British Armoured Recce Vehicles had to be manouverable enough to flt down tight countryside roads, they never would have had a wider turning circle than an oil tanker.
Fun fact about the Staghound is that it's actually an American-designed vehicle but was produced under lend-lease in UK in large numbers while The Americans lost interest in the vehicle.
You actually can handbrake in them. You have to hold W, one of the turning keys, and the space bar. It's not like a normal tank where you let go of W or space. Also, the wheels have to be at their maximum angle for the handbrake to work. Do it correctly and you can spin 180 in half a second.
My personal take: 5: difficult, and not fun to play 6: once fully researched is fun and interesting 7: fun and interesting 8: fun when played well, but difficult to play well (at least when you are making mistakes like me) haven't gotten to 9 or 10
QB if you get into a nice matchup and don't need to fire gold, you can use the comsumables slot to change how much of each ammo you need, not just the consumables
I think the idea with these was to make a line similar to the Cent AX line but lowering their performance in exchange for stuff like accuracy and high reverse speeds, which the lower tiers on the line dont really enjoy as much as the higher tiers. Im loving the Saladin's accuracy right now, 3 skill crew with the QB Commander makes the fight nicer
Fun fact: the 77 mm OQF on the Comet, actually has a caliber of 75 (or 76.2?) mm, the Brits just called it the 77 so they would not get the guns of the Comet and Cromwell (75 mm OQF) (or 17-pdr?) mixed up.
The FSV does look like a cool tank, kind of reminds me of the T71 (back when it was just the T71 and had the DA’s turret and CMDB’s hull) which was a tank I went for when I first started playing world of tanks
Don’t you just love it when Wargaming makes it harder for new players who have to grind through those lower tier tanks and can’t just buy their way into the higher tiers. Unless they spend actual money which is exactly what WG wants us to do.
I only take the T7 to test because of the best camo of all the line with a spotter setup with exhaust to play sneaky. Good rate of fire, good pen, but 5° of depression, and it turn like the titanic...
I think some adjustments are needed here and there but... the whole line (except tier 10 but that one has alpha advantage) has exceptional gun handling which means there's no need for v.stab. So you have a free slot that can be used for... turbo which in turn makes those tanks the fastest medium tanks in the game (except tier 10...). They are not flashy but they have very comfortable guns (something you often only get at tier 10) and they are fairy mobile with high top speed. Honestly, I don't need much more than that so I'm quite satisfied with them.

I've been grinding these and I really enjoyed the tier 5 AEC. Tier 6 doesn't feel much better (especially when I end up on a tier 8 lobby) but I'm having fun. I'm looking forward to the tier 7 I also really enjoy that there's crew xp bonuses going on right now for the "roll Britannia" event thing so I've already started my my third perk. Made me want to grind the French tire tanks since I don't own any french tanks (been grinding for about a month) The wheels really bring a fun aspect to tanking for me! I hadn't played WoT since like 2016 and it's been fun getting used to all the new stuff in the game that wasn't around back then. (I don't remember premium tanks being pay to win but oh well)
That the AEC is the first on the line is... weird to me. So, there's the Humber, which had a 15mm autocannon and later a 37mm cannon, the Daimler, which had a 2 pdr, the (Australian) Rhino, which had a 2 pdr, and the (South African) Marmon-Herrington, which also had a 2 pdr. Why the line doesn't start at tier 3 with the Humber, and the Daimler at tier 4, I have no idea. (Rhino and Marmon-Herrington being fine fodder for tier 4 premiums). (Also, the AEC had, across the marks, a 2 pdr and 75mm as well).
Pretty much what I thought was going to happen, with the FSV sch A and Saladin being the most enjoyable of the bunch. Shame Wargaming made them generally so mediocre, as it will likely takes years to see any adjustments.
I continue to be surprise at the use of the term "tanks" for the new armored car line. These vehicles were never intended to replace tanks except in the reconnaissance role. Comparing the two types of vehicles is like comparing apples and oranges.

With 600 Tanks, a new Line Just has to be OK and offer variety. They cant Always invent the wheel again (Pun intended). So Its a nice Line introducing some new known Tanks :)
If that line had been made lights it would make sense, but as they are they have all the flaws of a light with none of the benefits. And having driven a Saracen/Saladin IRL they are totally under-specced.
I find that these new British wheeled vehicles do not offend my sensibilities as much as the dumb-ass-Ferrary-with-Captain-America-wheels line. These may even be decent fit to the game.

So if I put a top crew, bounty equipment, premium consumables, and get a dose of CC RNG the british wheelies are meh to ok. Thanks for explaining that QB 😂
With 600 Tanks, a new Line Just has to be OK and offer variety. They cant Always invent the wheel again (Pun intended).
So Its a nice Line introducing some new known Tanks :)
Yeah but who wants to play wheeled CDCs that turn like a Bus?
It used to be like that on console the defenders in the town.
If that line had been made lights it would make sense, but as they are they have all the flaws of a light with none of the benefits. And having driven a Saracen/Saladin IRL they are totally under-specced.
Guess what QB? Time to move your lazy *** from my barracks and assign you as a commander for this line
What mod for reticle to use with this gun now do not work now
100% pay to win game.
QB what is the name of the mod you are using to see equipment in-game?
I'm coming back to the game after a couple year break, and I feel I would be more excited by a new arty line than this.
I find that these new British wheeled vehicles do not offend my sensibilities as much as the dumb-ass-Ferrary-with-Captain-America-wheels line. These may even be decent fit to the game.
i think siegfried is much more balanced. previously i never went south cause i knew it is lost every single time when defending.
for me in my opinion the Scheme A is the better looking of them all
It's not a tier V match without a lefh or a Pz V/IV
