      What is the extension cable you're using? I'm not able to find an official one on shure's website

    I guess the short cable isn't an issue for the stage musicians, since they probably have a wireless monitor receiver (or a wired one) on their belts.

  • @NedRattlebone
    @NedRattlebone ปีที่แล้ว +10

    The shorter cable is for wireless IEM systems where the receiver is clipped to your belt or guitar strap, and prevents excessive cable from getting tangled in your gear or getting snagged on something.
    For ME, the shorter cable is PRO as I use them for live performances.
    Just depends on your application.

    I'm not surprised you said this model is at the point of diminishing returns. I've owned a pair of se-215 for many years now and although I've considered buying a more expensive pair, I've always felt very pleased with the se-215 sound quality. They truly are amazing.

    The reason the cord is short is because it’s not supposed to be used at a desk ..Im in a band and I use these the chord is meant to go to a belt pack for wireless IEM setup. When it’s on a belt pack it’s actually too much cable.

    I'm a NYC subway busker. One spot I've found where the tips are good is a very noisy station. I checked with a dB meter and it's about 85 dB there. I've ordered one of these from sweetwater.

    I'm buying mine for motorcycle riding. They seem to block out the wind noise quite well and are perfect for wearing inside the helmet.

    In regards to length, were they not designed to plug into a receiver pack on your person? It would make sense then if they were that short. Otherwise you would have a long ass cord dangle fucking around when you are trying to play.

    Great videos on this product, thanks! The Shure advertising blurbs say that the bass is „deep“. You mentioned that theses are good for recording. Do they push the bass? Thanks for your help.

      I now race in VR, use GoXLR and now need in-ear as my over ear don’t fit with VR strap. These are definitely a good choose and for the price/quality they are mega value.

    I'm considering buying these to use a 'monitors' to hear my digital piano when playing live. I assume that you can put these less snug into your ears so as to hear more or less of outside sound? I often see drummers wearing earbuds (to hear click tracks). Maybe these will work for keyboardists.

    Have the blue ones shown in this video for 5 years, used it for on stage iem and casual listening. Imo, as monitors, they work great, sound isolation is top when u use the foam tips, these are really comfortable to wear for long hours after you got used to that fit. For casual listening, these are not great, unless you like alot of muddy bass in your listening

    • @JustSomeDude31
      @JustSomeDude31 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use them for casual listening (mostly during sports) and I don't think the bass is that bad. I'm not an audiophile but I do prefer quality sound, these are the best in-ears I've had even though I would like the bass to be more present sometimes.
      But i'm sure there are better options out there in the same price range that I would like even more, however the comfort of wearing them is so good that I really don't want another brand.

    Wearing the cable down your back must be unique to you. They can be worn in the normal way with the wire still going behind your ears. That would make the cable long enough!

      What is a good monitor Iem under or around $100? I'd be open to any suggestions

    • @1337wafflezz
      @1337wafflezz ปีที่แล้ว

      To monitor? Truthear Hexa is your best option. Simgot em6l is also incredibly smooth but more v-shaped.
      there are a bunch, some even as low as 20$ that obliterate the SE215.
      I would recommend waiting for the 7hz zero 2 coming soon for an all rounder sound signature. if you like the fit and sound? good. If you want more or less treble/bass, go from there
