Just seeing this now :) It's totally fine to rename the image file name using Squarespace's image editor panel, no difference in outcome compared to if you rename the physical file name on your computer and then re-upload! I demonstrate the longer method in this video in case someone is looking to rename image files in other ways that don't have that easy built in functionality in place (e.g., galleries). Same same but different! Hope that helps :)
Hi Eric, if you're using the standard Squarespace image block, you can rename the image's file name directly in the platform. But if you're using galleries then you have to rename the physical file name on your computer then re-upload. Hope that helps!
