    Perfect quad for the relatively new pool! It feels wrong watching it dive into the water but super awesome! I love how high you dove from too! It is kind of cool to see the video go out as the water creates a penetration barrier until the drone floats back up. I almost thought you cracked the carbon from hitting the water but it is good to see that it was just the screws haha. The "warranty" discount card is a great idea for people who think they will crash or lose their quads a lot, especially with this waterproof one! Great video, I enjoyed watching the flight footage, very fun!

    Nick, my impression of this quad is that it's mostly supposed to let you retrieve your gopro, not hold up to several water "dives". The only test I'd like to see that you didn't do is something simulating a flight along the beach that gets a bit too low and hits the water - just fly forward quickly into the water.
    Your tests were beyond what I think the quad was intended to handle, which is exactly what we want to see, so we know what will break first and how the durability of the quad will hold up in the real world. Thanks!

    i wonder if something could be designed to print from some tpu that would secure with the mounting system already there?

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      potentially yes. Maybe a thin loop around the float where they secure to the frame.

    my only real complaint with darwin fpv stuff. three bolt bases on the motors...

    need to hook a net to it so you can skim the pool while having fun. 😀

    This gives me memories of when we'd use pop bottles.

      Wasn't there a rotor riot episode with water bottle float/s?

      @@NickBurnsFPV Yes they did, flite test did it also, that's where I seen that idea and started using it for when I'm on lake Ontario.

    I just strap a floaty to the bottom of my quad. How much flight time can you get with this?

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lower left of the full flight video has the flight. But I do run the battery to low...it was an old battery

  • @MrBumbles2

    lol i was like i hope nick gets this to try in his new pool lol ,,, wish i had it when i hit a tree branch above my pool , my quad didn't like that H2O

    • @kurtzFPV
      @kurtzFPV 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. I put my protek 25 in the pool when I missed a gap through the railing. It zapped the flight controller instantly, but the motors, vista and camera survived. I unplugged the battery while it was still submerged.

    I think a couple of empty water bottles would have done the job better than the foam floats.

    • @NickBurnsFPV

      Unfortunately probably not. I generally don't review quads above a 3inch prop size. I took a flyer on this one to test it in the pool
