Oh Brian, what an incredibly interesting life you created for yourself. Thoroughly deserved the amount of work you've done, and still doing. All round amazing, renaissance man. ❤
Its amazing, to grow up hearing Brian's music in the 70'and onward and while you come to love the band, they're all so very far away and removed from the adoration. For all its pitfalls, the internet has allowed fans the opportunity to get these close up chats and that let us re-appreciate the people who made the magic, all over again.
I was at the studio soon after Brian completed this project. They were recording The Works and so I heard about it before almost anyone. He was very excited to share
I wore this album out and now enjoying this fabulous remix!

Was lucky enough to find out where they were recording (kept it quiet) and got to know the studio manager Rose (she was an angel). Was there in and off for weeks-was incredible!

I still remember the day, over 35 years ago, when I spotted Starfleet in my local
Record shop. You couldn’t find it anywhere and there it was for £2.99 in the bargain bucket. It’s a fantastic “mini-album” as I seem to remember Brian describing it in the sleeve notes. 3 excellent songs with amazing playing on each and they still sound great today. Delighted this is now getting some attention.

Similar story here. Just happened to look at the shelf behind the checkout and I saw it on the shelf. Couldn't even be sure it said Brian May on it. I walked by a couple of times trying to get a better look as it was crowded and finally just asked the clerk if I could take a look at it. Once it got in my hands it never left. I was completely unaware he had even released anything. I remember being disappointed looking at the track listing and seeing it was only a mini LP, but once it hit my record player, that disappointment vanished.

I've known Alan since college, nothing could be truer than that statement.
As I kid I would watch the series every week in the re-runs on Dutch tv. I later found out that the theme was by Brian. I can still sometimes enjoy watching an episode. We all stay kids internally somewhere.

Star Fleet was one of my fave tv shows here in the UK,i bought the Brian May album and whilst most of it was pretty good,May`s singing voice sadly was/is weedier than my back garden.

@@TheKoopaKings yes, have both the solo albums, but neither feature Eddie Van Halen. So, as a guitarist, who has been influenced by Brian and EVH, Star Fleet is my ultimate album of all time.
Hey Brian. I bought this album from Peaches Record Store in Jackson MS way back when it first came out. I had never heard of it. Spotting the sleeve: Brian May and Friends, featuring Edie Van Halen I knew it was gonna be a good one.
Little did I know that those three songs displayed some of you and Eddie's best ever riffs. Still listening after all the years.
An impromptu masterpiece of rock n roll.

Bought this on cassette as soon as I saw it. I thought I read somewhere that EVH was a little miffed as he didn't know this was going to become a release. The fun in the studio does come across in the music. Thanks Bri.

I used to watch the cartoon and was so confused when I found my brothers tape copy, with Brain May doing Starfleet. Had a Bowie, Madonna mix, bit of Rocky 4 too.
00:51 Love that they're playing through SR&D Rockman headphone amps. Big deal in the 80's for a portable amp, all over Def Leppard's Hysteria, very VERY expensive to get one today in working order if you're lucky.
I listened to this EP hundreds of times and still love it. I learned lots of blues licks from you two legends.

Here I am listening to such a story of this curly knight and I think: how is it still not fair that the members of the Queen created so few soundtracks. I mean for films ("Highlander" does not count), for animated series, for computer games, finally. Because there is us, there is the past generation, and there is the current generation. Many of them know Freddie, but not everyone knows that Brian, John and Roger have always been around. So I think everyone wants more Brian and Roger right now. In any form! -_0

By 1983 Queen were all getting on each other’s nerves. Brian, Freddie, John, Roger, Roger’s car (who Roger was in love with) were all just causing friction in the band. The car wanted to take the band to strange new places
This is now the 4th different story I have heard Brian tell about this project. Which is true? Any? Why does he lie so much!
