Me and a friend combined the two exercises shown at 1:24 - 1:34 after seeing a video on Gary and you definitely feel the burn even after a few of them! We called that exercise "Players" in tribute.
As a lifetime gym rat I have met a handful of men and women who were and are in great shape in their older years. My dad told me to always stay fit because without your health you have nothing. In a few years I too will be looked at as the old fit guy. Its not hard if you never stop, just don't stop.
I was a kid in the days of Julius Boros, Billy Caspar, Fat Jack (then, not later). There was all kinds of debate over whether Player’s fitness approach was going to make people “muscle bound” and unable to swing. We know the answer now. Gary Player is the reason for golfers who look more like athletes, and make golf courses obsolete by hitting the ball prodigious distances. It’s not all better equipment.
Total respect for this pro athlete however any movement that puts your spine in " extension" ( bending forward) compromises your spinal discs. Your asking for a disc rupture. ( Herniation).
It’s what has made him who he his. He was a coal miners son in South Africa. His self-belief, or arrogance, got him out of poverty and eventually winning golf tournaments and considered to be the best in his era, on par with Palmer and Nicklaus. One of only 4 players to have won the career grand slam, he is a living legend. So, I guess being arrogant has worked out for him....also, he is a world class rancher, so he’s got the cattle to back up the hat.

I'd rather drink beer and eat Five Guys. Most of us die in accidents anyway
Who knew Gary Player was the pioneer of "bro science"
Never seen anyone so fit at 85! If this is "bro science", maybe I should start looking into it!

it has taken years for me to like Gary Player
What a Player... 😅
Wow!
Don't hate on this man join him.
wow
To all of us men.do push ups science say you will live longer.
That's interesting, in one clinic he said the hands serve no purpose in the swing.🤔
the opening scene seems like it has more to do with physics/technique than it has to do with exercise, I could be wrong
It's got everything to do with a strong forearm
this guys 80 think about every 80 year old you know .......
such humilty....he'll tell u all about it....😂
This is me in my 80s
The only player that can do this is Gary.
Def has a huge Napoleon complex...
to fast, too choppy ( we don't all have ADD) and distracting music. Otherwise it was good.
Too fast.
1300 reps then puts 100 lbs for his crunches.
He looks better than a lot of 40 year old guys nowadays
😂

First
He's an amazing guy, but I find his arrogance off-putting. He's certainly earned the right to act however he wants, but I don't find it charming.

I’ve never found Gary Player to be arrogant at all. He is IMHO s one of the best teachers that has ever been.
arrogant....and then some.....
