You got scam 😂, that’s a warning for many tourists about Tuk Tuk in Thailand. They will not take you to the Grand Palace ans say it’s closed and instead drive you around to gem stores and they will force you to buy. The Grand Palace is never close in the morning only in the evening. Next time you tell them grand palace only and if they don’t go you get off the Tuk Tuk. I was almost taken to the 💎 store too but I told them NO NO NO!! They were persistent but I said no or I’m getting off. Then they took me to the grand palace. Also there is free boat to the grand palace that you can take there. Definitely watch out for scams! Happy travel

I'm a Surin-Buriram person but live in USA. Don't call us Khmer because we are not Cambodian people. We are Khon Thai. My Aunt from Buriram lives in Denmark now but she met many Cambodian-French people and she doesn't like being called Cambodian because she's not from there.

If you ask a Cambodian they will reply “I’m Khmer” in the Khmer language because in the khmer language we don’t say “kyom Cambodian” it’s not linguistically correct in Khmer. Like in the US I’m American born but my ancestral roots is Khmer. Like white Australian and white New Zealand people are from England or Scotland etc. yes they aren’t English living or born in England but their ancestral roots is English. Also USA and Canada the original white people have ancestral roots from Italy, England, France etc etc . I say I’m American but my parents are from Cambodia but my ancestral roots I say I’m khmer because it’s fact.

I got scammed in Cambodia plenty of times. I will never go there again.
