Hello Master Kanayama Takayuki, I am using the Google Translator because I do not speak English (so there may be some writing errors). I live in Belgium, I am 67 years old, and retired from professional life for 4 years. I am still in good shape, and I am very active. Thirty years ago I practiced Aikido for 13 years, and I practiced jo and boken a lot. I practiced with good Belgian and French teachers, and I followed internships by Sensei Tamura and Sensei Sugano quite well. I also practiced, for 3 years, shiatsu with Sensei Yuichi Kawada. And then I practiced Tai chi chuan, for 4 years. Today, for the past few weeks, I want to go back to work at jo.. And I just discovered your TH-cam site which I think is great! I will start on the basis of this video, as I have already practiced the jo it will be easier for me, however I did not know everything you have shown and explained !!! So here I am well motivated to animate my jo! Domo arigatoo gozaimashita.
Thank you for your kind comment. I can't speak English either, so I would like to make comments through the Google Translator and the DEEPL Translator. I am grateful to be connected by martial arts from a remote place called Belgium. The world is in a tough time with coronaviruses, but it's wonderful to have a martial arts practice where you can forget that. Please continue to do your best. Thank you very much.

Impressive stuff. I have been working this technical idea of yours today outside in the yard. I must say that it is indeed very fundamentally important as you have presented. I love the idea of making this a warm up exercise. In earlier videos I saw this footwork movement and I was not quite sure that I understood its purpose. My knowledge is so much more clearer now having seen this video. Thank you Sensei.
Thank you. Please don't stop and go with sliding feet so that you can create your own movements, and don't twist your body. You will gradually create a congruence of movement. www.deepl.com/ja/translator

Thank you very much. If I may ask....what is the history behind this style of Jojitsu? Where did it come from and who did you learn it from? Sensei Kono? I enjoy its movements very much.
The Jojutsu I perform is the movement system of Kouno Yosinori sensei The body language and Jo's movements seem to be similar, and the Kouno Some of the techniques are based on the teacher's techniques. I have met and practiced with Sensei every month for about ten years.
@@KanayamaTakayuki th-cam.com/video/tr7w0fjifAw/w-d-xo.html This is where I first began learning it. He, like you, are good teachers. I only found you after searching for more in depth videos. It is so much different than Aikido and Karate staff movements. I think it is very refreshing. Did your teacher invent this style or did he find it, out of the past, in his years of researching the old ways?
Kouno sensei, more than 40 years ago in his dojo "syouseikan He said that in the complete darkness with the lights off at midnight, various movements arose from within him. This Jojutsu is from Kouno sensei's body. This Jojutsu sprang from Kouno sensei's body. Thank you 'Master/Guru',, god bless you sir 🙏
thank you so much.
Wonderful poetic and philosophical explanation ‼️✊👏💚🍀🤔☺️

@@KanayamaTakayuki Now that is fascinating! Thank you for this history.
Sensei Takayuki, what length of Jo are you using? And is that the preferred length or just what you enjoy using.
The basic length of Jo is 127.6 cm.
The diameter is 2.4cm.
If you make it yourself, please file the corners.
金山先生、ご無沙汰しています。
海外からも反響ありますね!
コロナの状況もみて、また稽古に参加させてください。
ありがとうございます。いつでもお待ちしております。
