I grew up and live near blowing rock.....growing up we affectionately called it "foggy rock" Haha....I have spent many days in BlackBerry valley trout fishing ,hiking and exploring nature as well as table rock, hawksbill, grandfather, linville gorge.....glad the fog lifted and you 2 could enjoy the beautiful autumn tapestry....God bless....🙏
It’s amazing how foggy it can get in that part of the country! It’s also amazing how it can blow away so fast! As always we enjoyed your video! Keep up the great work!
Reminds me of the nights working on the strip job. After a rain, when I would go into work at 5pm. It would white out around 8pm. You honestly couldn't see your hand in front of your face. We had to hault work and stag up the equipment, because you couldn't see to move. There's been nights we set all 12hrs of work, because we couldn't see to get of the mountain. No coal got shot and ran, just set and listen to the jokes told on the CB or Jerry Clower lol. By the way Dolly needs to put a zip line, right down the center of that place. Thanks for taking me and others along, to share Gods beauty he gave to us freely. God Bless you both! (Glen). WV.
Another spectacular video of this garden of nature. I really like all of your videos of one of the most underrated parts of the great USA. I have been out west in those mountains, and they have their own special beauty as well, but its hard to beat this. Keep going you two.
I've always fantasized about jumping off a beautiful Appalachian landscape. Just jump right off. It won't kill me but the sudden stop will. No worries. Love your channel, y'all!
Great video ya becareful on those foggy roads such beautiful country thanks again best tour guides and story telling on utube keep them coming 👍 sub count is growing so happy to see the numbers going up you deserve lot more
Wow! The fog is something else & then not! I have a picture of my sister standing near the top of the rock! Shame on you, Shane! Trying to get Melody to jump off the rock! Ever heard: 🎶"Running Bear loves Little White Dove, with a love as big as the sky; Running Bear loves Little White Dove with a love that will never die!"🎶🎵 That's supposedly the name of the Indian Brave & Squaw the story is about. That's just part of the song. We heard it at Frontier Land which used to be another attraction close by when my family went there when I was a kid. We always went to Tweetsie Railroad, Blowing Rock, Frontier Land & Ghost Town in the Sky (that was horribly scary to get to-straight up a mountain!). I really miss those times! Y'all stay safe & thanks for bringing back some good memories! God bless!
@@realappalachia and that is the secret sauce of your channel. Did you ever considered 'walking State street' on a Friday or Saturday night and just talking about anything that comes to mind? You know, things like getting out and living life or being in the moment? Something akin to a virginians version of "Look Up?". That's the vid about getting your face or of your cell phone? Just like your apple butter vid, just living with the world and people around you. Shoot, even the flea market, real people living real lives! Okay, I'm done dining on...
A few years ago. I stopped at a gas station in Buckhorn an old lady told me we don't sell gas anymore since my husband died. he only sold it to talk to people who stopped nice lady sold sandwiches. Drove 20 min up road to a gas station and was told we only take cash because we don't have internet in our area. Don't know if there is a lot to talk about but was a eye opener.

Awesome scenery and commentary. The one good thing about less population is that the landscape isn't marred by condos and mcmansions .
Western NC and East Tennessee have some beautiful landscapes
Western North Carolina is a beautiful place.
I forgot just how magical it could be til we checked it out this time

The opening part of video reminded me of a Zombie movie. 😊😊😁😁☺☺
Blue ridge parkway went below the cloud deck through the gaps, then through clouds, long view to east, ridges and valleys to the west( October 2018)
Gorgeous view really enjoyed it!
Any chance of seeing Moravian Falls along the way!
hopefully on our next trip to the area, would love to show that

Incredible place ! 💜⛰️🏞️
We agree!
Blowing Rock site and the little cute town- shops- restaurant etc. are wonderful!

Want some cobbler made me hungry
I'm afraid of heights too but the draw to Seneca Rocks lookout was over powering so up I went.
It sure is pretty country.
we love it too!
I always heard that if you threw your Hat over it would blow back up to you…
i can believe it, strangest thing how the wind blew upwards there and pretty strongly at that
As a kid, I almost fell off rhe rock. My stepdad saved me by my shirt.
Wow! That had to be scary!
👍🇺🇸
