The set is available to pre-order now through BrickLink: www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-2/642/Logging-Railway Electronics to power the model are not included.
Zero chance this doesn't sell out immediately. This is beyond a no brainer for me to buy. Absolutely love it. The orient express set could learn a lot from yours, standard couplers, and motorisation instructions. Perfect.
afaik, the orient express isnt actually selling too terribly well, so lego is gonna cry and scream watching this sell out in minutes, and i for one cannot WAIT to see it happen! about time we spoke with our wallets and told those lego corporate fucks what we actually want.
The bridge gives me mad nostalgia for a similar one for a now (tourist) train in a beautiful forest where I grew up. Ordered this morning. (Copied comment from other video but I'm so excited!)
My biggest issue with this is I want just the loco and the rollingstock while a significant portion of the set is a bridge. It’s a cool bridge and the video demonstrates it’s compatibility with L-scale track but still.
Yep, Frankly I'm not that interested in the train itself, I just don't think it looks amazing. But the fact that half of the set is a bridge I will never use is a non-starter for me.
most accurate rails i've ever seen, literally got the rail ties and the, you know, big ass metal rails that are actually how rails work. lmao love that :)
The bridge has an angle of ~2º every 8 studs, so if I did my math right that works out to around R229. The angle between each section is ever so slightly adjustable, so it should totally be doable to adjust the bridge to match R216 or maybe even R232, if you want it to line up with the 16 stud intervals in radius used by most 3rd party track manufacturers.
No way. Didn't realise it was yours!! Massive congratulations. Set looks fantastic. I'm confident this set will sell really well. Also, how will it be motorised?
Thanks! Motorization is possible with a train motor in the locomotive, and a PU hub replacing the generator on the flat car. In the video I’m just pulling it along with a piece of fishing wire though :P
@@tman4237 No, I am saying that the bend radius is different than the official LEGO one. But the width of the track is the same as LEGO one, so you can run trains on top of it.
I’ve never bought anything from BDP yet, but I NEED this!! As a huge train fan this is everything to me, I’m a little worried about the buying process though, does anyone know how quicky these things usually sell out?
I have no idea what to expect for if/how fast this set wil sell out. For series 1, the first sets sold out within hours, two more within a few days, and the last two where available through to the end of the pre-order window. Buying BDP sets should be fairly easy: Once the pre-orders open you wil be able to click on the pre-order button, and that should redirect you to LEGO.com and add the set to your cart.
We love this, but the bridge takes up so many pieces so it made it $210. If it was less, I'd DEFINITELY buy it. (I still plan on it regardless of price lol)
Yes! The tracks on the bridge are built to the same width as the LEGO tracks, so the train works on all standard track pieces. It's even designed to fit powered up components if you want to motorise it

We could have had the train for about $80 without that awful impossible to use bridge. People want sets they can integrate with the rest, we do not want sets with a bridge we cannot integrate with the rest. I cannot work out the thinking process where supposedly intelligent people got together and looked at this stupid unusable bridge and then came to the conclusion that a train bridge without train track is a good idea?????...HOW DID THIS PASS INSPECTION???
Why didnt it use normal Lego track? Why would you use clips and tiles when it is impossible to have these join to normal track? Why have a curved bridge that is a totally different curve than normal Lego track? What is the point of a huge bridge that is impossible to use as a train bridge? If the bridge is useless why include it in the set? I want the train, I do not want a pointless huge impossible to use curved bridge. This is without any doubt the most annoying Lego set EVER. Sell me the TRAIN, keep your crappy useless bridge.
This feels more like a rant then a question, but let me try to answer you anyway. • The bridge doesn't use normal track, because LEGO only makes really sharp curves or straight track pieces. • The tile & clip track on the bridge is the same width as normal track, so if you have a raised section of normal track, the bridge can easily be joined to it with a minimal gap. • If the curve on the bridge doesn't work for your layout, you can easily build a straight version by removing a single 1x1 plate in each segment. • The bridge exists because this is primarily a display set for adults. I've designed the train so it's possible to add a motor and battery box, but its primary goal is to be a display piece. • (from your other comment) these BDP sets are not designed by LEGO, but by fans like me. There is no "inspection" (other then for stability or illegal build techniques), the sets that get chosen are simply the ones that had the most positive votes during the crowd support fase.

That Porter is soo SWEET
Already purchased my copy! So stoked to display this with my other LEGO trains

In awe at the track technique. New possibilities!
Looks amazing mate, can’t wait to get it!!
Yoo how are you Britishbricks, LOVE your videos!
We love your train so much! We bought 2!!! 🚂 🥳
Good to know this bridge can be used for a Lego train layout.
So excited to play with this set!!! Currently trying to reverse engineer the log car so I can have a few extra by the time the set arrives :))
Words cannot begin to describe how excited I am to buy this set!
Well this is adorable
My biggest issue with this is I want just the loco and the rollingstock while a significant portion of the set is a bridge. It’s a cool bridge and the video demonstrates it’s compatibility with L-scale track but still.
I agree exactly! The trestle is beautiful, but I probably cant include it in a rolling layout, so it’s kinda worthless to me in that regard.
Yep, Frankly I'm not that interested in the train itself, I just don't think it looks amazing. But the fact that half of the set is a bridge I will never use is a non-starter for me.
I can‘t wait 😬
Nice Train 👍
Love some porters!
Well, now I have to buy.
i love logging locomotives my favorite loco is the 2-6-6-2 mallet with the spilt saddle tank

love that :)
This is the best LEGO movie I’ve ever seen.
Behind the scenes please!
I'm hoping I have enough saved up to order one when it drops
Great video - like.
Another set i want but will never get 😂
Not a set yet

What is the equivalent radius of the custom track? Is it equal to any of the tric brix track radius options?

are those tiles mounted 90 degrees as track! That's an awesome technique
I’m am %100 pre ordering this
Ontzettend gaaf gemaakt, deze staat bovenaan de lijst voor 6 juni!
Wair is tbus based on that logging sim game
Mooi hoor Ties, ik ga mijn best doen er eentje te bemachtigen :)
I might buy one!

@@Tiesproductions That's cheating! 😂😂
Only took a few minutes to change to motor, great job!
Looks awesome! The bridge is in the same scale as regular Lego tracks, correct? Easy to transition the bridge with my current layout, hopefully.
The curve radius is different, so you may want to buy from third-parties sellers.
@@jossdeiboss Your saying that it isn't compatible with Lego trains.
@@tman4237 No, I am saying that the bend radius is different than the official LEGO one. But the width of the track is the same as LEGO one, so you can run trains on top of it.

Thanks! There is room for a train motor in the base of the locomotive, and a powered up hub fits in the generator on the flat car.
Will buy

Shut up and take my money!
Why is RDR2 coming in mind straight away when i see this???,
It looks really cool, and if i noticed it right made by a Dutchman or a Belgium. Toch ???

(I still plan on it regardless of price lol)
The ONLY way this could be better..... is if the steam engine was a working Shay locomotive!!!
Will the set come with the motor and battery to power the train, or will we need to buy that separately?
Electronics won't be included with the set, so you wil need to buy a separate train motor and powered up hub if you want to power it.
Sad as one would almost need two to build a longer bridge
Is it compatible with real lego train tracks?
Yes! The tracks on the bridge are built to the same width as the LEGO tracks, so the train works on all standard track pieces. It's even designed to fit powered up components if you want to motorise it

How is it motorized
The chassis of the locomotive is designed to fit a train motor, and the generator on the flat car can be built around the powered up hub
