Why the idle stop feature resets every time I start my car. I wanna turn this feature off permanently :(
Unfortunately not! I called Honda dealership that I bought my car from and they told me due to the US environmental regulations this feature has to be on by default! Also based on Honda that since 2024 all cars should have the same feature on! Not sure how accurate their information.
The idle stop “feature” will also stall your engine. Google the current lawsuit against Honda/Acura regarding the idle stop.
I bought the 2023 Acura tlx type S yesterday less than 24 hours I’m gonna have it tow it back to the dealership. The engine shut off even on sport mode I gotta push the start button to restart the car. Sometime on low speed like 20ish mph the engine shut off too the car behind me almost hit me today.
@@eddiesu2who in their right mind would buy an Acura or a Honda?
Get you something better like a Mercedes or a bmw m series
Come on man, have some respect for yourself
@@H3LLMAU5 Mercedes and BMW has the same idle stop feature in their vehicles not to mention Honda and Acura are far more reliable than any German made vehicles period.
@@nb347 are they really more reliable? My 2023 accord has been multiple times at the shop for injector failure, piston ring failure and recently for turbo failure
People see as luxury, but I see it is Annoying ASF dealing with this auto stop. I do admit that this car is one good economy car cause I own one. Driving from MI to Wisconsin Madison, my tank dropped to Half Tank. I don't know if it is the time you are traveling. The city is not as bad as I thought is more depend on the driver. But that auto stop was a big fail for my own opinions. I take the auto lights over that auto stop.
The switch should turn the feature on or off until the switch is reset. Some, perhaps many, hate this feature. I know I won’t be buying another Honda until this feature is changed.
I love the start/stop system on my Insight. Unfortunately it always starts back up after aprox 10 seconds. How can I keep the engine off for longer during traffic lights?
Does it say adjust climate controls? If so it’s your ac working too hard. The car doesn’t have the energy to run a high ac and idle stop.
Is honda2018 crv. has that?thanks
Where's the information for the 2025 Passport EXL-AWD?
Honda - take note. STUPID FEATURE. So you save 2-3% of fuel, but put more wear & tear on starter, different kind of battery instead of normal battery, not to mention wear to the engine too.
I know it's applicable only on Pilot, but I have a 2020 CRV Hybrid. I see the engine turning off the moment the gas pedal is released. Am I exempt from this stupid feature?
this feature makes me seriously consider whether i should stop viewing your cars. this is not a feature introduced to cars because customers wanted it.
I see that everyone, like me, came here to see if this auto idle stop could be permanently disabled. We all left disappointed. 😂
This feature is useless. Especially in CA traffic.
This feature sucks but if they designed the cars to handle way more starts, then in theory it could be a net positive if you don't use it.
I can’t find any bloody switch on my 62 plate Honda Insight to disable this auto stop
they should default to OFF....but allow to be turned on....if EPA wants it on.
DUMB feature you can't permanently turn off. I HATE it
i bought a 2022 accord special edition or whatever bs they call it, a few months ago & i'm already thinking on trading it because this annoying feature plus i miss driving a truck, i love how smooth this car drives and how much money im saving compared to my old 2016 gmc sierra denali but i regret so much buying this car for this feature and because i decided not to get another truck 💔
REMOVE THIS, OR MAKE IT ABLE TO BE PERMANENTLY SWITCHED OFF. I will be telling all my folks about this feature. ITS DANGEROUS
Theres a special battery for this feature...
I've already had to replace this "special" battery at 2.5 years and 50k miles. It died without warning. $350! And that's with us manually turning off the auto stop feature. I can't imagine how much sooner it would have died with heavy auto stop use. Honda no longer makes high quality vehicles. We've had 3 Odysseys ('05, '14, '22). This will be our last. Too many issues and bad designs. Why is the rear HVAC fan SO loud up front? It impedes conversation. I've had 2 dealers check it and "it's normal". ☹️
In less traffic jam area, the feature is stupid.
Idiots at Honda engineering need to set the auto-stop to constant off unless you want to use it, not the other way around. time to get a module to overcome this idiot move by the Honda engineers.
Completely stupid, huge wear on your starter. And the starter is under the intake. lmao
I will never buy another Honda if it has this feature on it. I HATE Honda for having it. I just bought a new odyssey and I knew nothing of this god forsaken garbage when I bought it. Never ever again. I won’t even look at a Honda dealership if their cars have this dangerous, unsettling puke feature on it.
It says you can just turn it off by pressing that button with A in the console? Doesn't work?
@@pathkris2984yeah it works . Takes a second to press the button. But you will have to do it every time you turn the car on. I can see stalling issues with this stupidity. Car jumps from stops which makes driving unpleasant.
almost all the new cars nowadays have this stupid feature, even in some manual transmission models...
all this extra BS makes me not wanna buy a new car 😡
idle stop sucks
I want the switch to remember the state it was in next time car is turned on, not default to on.
Forget it, never going to happen. Thanks to the government interfering and thinking they know what's best for us. STUPID
We all want that and Honda knows it.
@@tgwasteit’s so annoying having to press that button everytime I get in my car lol
@@Rugyyyy at least there IS a button. It irritates me too.
