I had the Shaqs back in the day, luckily when I was a kid sneaker culture wasn’t as big with the youth so I didn’t get clowned for my clothes. Shouts out to Shaq for making affordable hoop star shoes for the kids.
Crazy smart move from Shaq. Showing how he managed to get each kid 2-3 pairs and spend less than 1k. Showing the culture you don’t need to spend bands on shoes, be proud of what you got
Tbh back then I thought they were wack but after seeing ur comment.i might give them a shot.its stinks when u pay a good price for shoes n yet it lasts 1yr n half or so unless u REALLY take good care of them.i say that cuz yes it should be obvious but when u do have alot of stuff goin on whether dancing or music wise.they can wear out alot quicker.they didn't have dancing shoes back then but I guess u never judge a book by its cover
As a Boys & Girls Club kid, I already had some respect for Shaq for being one too.... Seeing this and hearing his story, then watching how he bought more club kids shoes... My respect for this man has gone through the roof and I can't stop smiling. Think I might get rid of my LeBrons for a pair of Shaqs....

This is by far the best episode you've done. Thank You to Shaq for showing us what it truly means to be great. What it means to be a real legend. I think Shaq has outdone everyone who's ever appeared on this show.
Shaq always just comes across as an all-around nice guy, would be amazing to sit down and chat to him. Always has great stories about his business investments, well worth a listen
Shaq is the coolest. I grew up in Chicago in the 80s and 90s so--naturally--Shaq was the enemy. But after Jordan retired, Shaq really became the star of stars in the NBA. He is one of the few players who has excelled at playing, commentating and analysis. He is a natural at all of them. He also is one of the few players who has transcended time. We all know he entered the league 30 years ago, and yet he feels as current as ever. Great interview.
I think he's even transcended basketball and being an NBA player. Of course most people will look at Jordan and his accomplishments on the court and easily name him the goat of basketball. But Shaq has really become a cultural icon beyond sneakers and basketball. He's really underrated in a sense since we see so much of him and almost take him for granted in this day and age with all his shenanigans on Inside the NBA, ridiculous box office movies, big teddy bear personality, and consistent philanthropy in the last three decades. But he's the real unicorn in the sports world. He's the people's champ that Kobe(rest in piece), Lebron, Jordan, etc could never be in a million years. He gives back to his communities in a down to earth and no nonsense way and does so without needing to look for glory or fame because he already has all the glory and fame. I'm sure everyone has their flaws and I'm not gonna perpetuate the hero/celebrity worship culture by putting these guys on pedestals. Plenty of people do just as much and go unseen. But I really do look up to Shaq's approach of using his fame and celebrity to do good for himself and his family, while also giving back to the communities that helped him get to the place he is now. Also just having fun while doing it and not taking it too seriously. Probably just as rewarding for him as it is to those he gives back to.
Love Shaq. Also loved that he threw in some bits of history with the brands. Never knew some of that back story. Especially the part he stated Nike used to own the Shaq brand. Great episode!
I’m truly amazed on how Shaq is. I’m deeply humbled by his actions and what he stands for truly a good hearted man. He may be sensitive at times...but his hearts in the right place. What an inspiration!
Shaq is an amazing human being. A real role model, a legend, an amazing business man, and he always helps out in anyway possible. I hope people are giving him his flowers now before it’s too late. I will be heartbroken when he is gone. I love you Shaq 🙏🏽
I get more and more respect for this man, every day. Bless him.
God bless this man. I don’t think ppl understand how generous Shaq is. And also how smart of a business man he is. Ppl need to applaud him.
I love that Shaq is heavily associated with the sneakerhead world, but he is himself an older gentleman who just likes a nice slip-on shoe and making affordable shoes for kids. He's so cool
SELLING SHOES BY MASSIVE VOLUME = MORE MONEY
@@PostUp_Timeyour point ?
I had the Shaqs back in the day, luckily when I was a kid sneaker culture wasn’t as big with the youth so I didn’t get clowned for my clothes. Shouts out to Shaq for making affordable hoop star shoes for the kids.
Crazy smart move from Shaq. Showing how he managed to get each kid 2-3 pairs and spend less than 1k. Showing the culture you don’t need to spend bands on shoes, be proud of what you got
One of the most down to earth guests here, and he's probably the biggest mega star too!
I've owned a few pairs of Shaq and they held up pretty well Shaq is still underrated to me he's a true legend
Yep
"PRETTY WELL"? WHERE DID YOU LEARN ENGLISH?
@@PostUp_Time what are you talking about dawg
Tbh back then I thought they were wack but after seeing ur comment.i might give them a shot.its stinks when u pay a good price for shoes n yet it lasts 1yr n half or so unless u REALLY take good care of them.i say that cuz yes it should be obvious but when u do have alot of stuff goin on whether dancing or music wise.they can wear out alot quicker.they didn't have dancing shoes back then but I guess u never judge a book by its cover
I got the ones from Payless, the all white Air Force, one looking pair with the Shaq insignia
Talk about a flex ✊🏾- the man’s ended up owning Reebok, got all his shoe creations back & creative design for new releases
We need more Shaq’s in this world
Honestly my fav episode of the entire series
By far the best episode of this show. Shaq is a great guy. Those kids must be so happy!
My daughter Izabella was gifted 4 pair! So did the rest of the kids... we enjoyed meeting him lol
Shaq is a gift that keeps on giving. We love you Shaq
No words for what big disel does for the youth. God bless him and his family. We need more people like him in this world.
Shaq definitely made a legacy for himself… certified legend. 🐐🧠
shaq is such a humble and nice human being i love the dude and how he gives happiness where he goes
Hes just so humble, gotta love him
shaq is the farthest thing from humble
Points for being humble and giving back 💯✨shaq the king 👑
Thank you shaq!!! Back in the mid 1990's as a single mother u made your sneakers affordable for me to buy a BRAND name for my son! Them black and blue Shaq snakers at walmart!!! He passed away in 2012 at 18 yrs old from an accident, but he was so super happy to receive some SHAQ SNEAKERS for 3 yrs straight!!!!! Sending love from Montreal, Canada
I love this video too much. Shaq being the caring guy he is even asked them after the fact if they wanted anything else. Happy the kids got some fresh pairs of shoes.
This is a first for Shopping complex, Shaq just melted my heart, nobody thinks of that. Buy kids some sneakers
He never bought them shoes he gave them away he owns Reebok and got it from adidas look at the list of shoes them kids got

Carmelo did that in his episode, too
Mad respect to Shaq 🥺✊🏼. He so humble.. This has got to be by far my favorite sneaker shopping episode!!
Shaq has a good heart. God continue to bless him 🙏🏼🙏🏼
What a wonderful human this man is. His kindness always makes me year up. I aspire to be like this, I have the will but lack the funds. If ever I am able, I will follow Shaq's lead. I know what it's like to be the teased kids.
Gotta love Shaq man, big humble guy with a big heart!!
I graduated high school in ‘94. I remember loving all those old kicks. Shaq has always been a great human being. I’m happy he’s doing all these great things
We must protect Shaq at all costs, he needs witness protection
@Fred Jammerson With a stature that huge, there are casualties during locomotion.
Witness protection for what? No ones out to get him 😂😂😂
😆
I'm not so sure a different identity will successfully be able to throw people off the scent...
“I need you report my credit card stolen.”😂😂

Much respect to that man and everyone involved in this program.
honestly one of the best Sneaker shopping episode I've watched, thanks Shaq
Shaq was the reason I got into basketball in '92, and he's a fantastic example of a father to me now. Nothing but the utmost respect and love.
Have to admit, the 90's was a fun time for us Chicagoans
now this was my favourite sneaker shopping episode. Just genuine kindness and humorous! lol that was awesome. Made me happy to watch this.
Humble guy, maximum respect
Love Shaq. Also loved that he threw in some bits of history with the brands. Never knew some of that back story. Especially the part he stated Nike used to own the Shaq brand. Great episode!
So much respect for this man. Every time I learn more about him the more I’m awe I am.
Shaq is a living legend! Smart, down-to-earth, generous and real. Love him so much. 🙏🏼👑❤️
You just got to love this guy. Whatever you think about anything else he does, cannot deny that he’s always looking out for other people.
I’m truly amazed on how Shaq is. I’m deeply humbled by his actions and what he stands for truly a good hearted man. I really loved this episode I never knew his story but it was a good one especially now that thanksgiving is over. I believed they timed it just right. God bless you Shaq your a blessing
Shaq is a true king with a heart of GOLD...may God keep enriching his pockets for all he does for the kids 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
