I've got one of these 12 strings coming in the mail and I can't wait to get it in my hands. I've been wanting a 12 string guitar for a long time now and just couldn't afford the high prices. I played this guitar in the store, (Guitar Center) and immediatly fell in love. I like the feel and the sound is fantastic but the price is the cool part. Squire just keeps getting better and I'm glad to have made the move. Thanks Fender.
These are my two favorite models from this Squier series. I don’t need the 12-string as I already have a 2019 Fender MIM Electric XII, but I really like the Nashville Strat/Tele Custom. I’ve wanted something like that for ages! A Tele pickup layout with a Strat middle pickup and silhouette, double-bound- they’ve been reading my mind!
I got the blue one and switched out the super hot pickups with american standard jm pickups which can actually get clean tones. The original ones measuered at 14 ohms or some nonsense and that's going into a 1 meg pot so it's crazy loud. I would suggest running your xii's through at least one compressor, but one studio trick for getting good xii string tone is using two compressors, 1175's would work well. The first in the chain you would run at a ratio of 4 and the second one around 24 or infinite if that's an option. I found it helped me in the studio with my xii cutting thru in the mix and sounding good in it.
Interesting 12 string, there is also two Burns 12 string electric guitars that are at very reasonable price at this present time. The Burns Double six and J S 12 string the first a reproduction of the sixties model and the later like a paranormal because it's a 12 string short scale S type electric with the Tri - tone pick ups design. For under £270 it's a bargain, easy to play and has many many sounds in it so worth checking out if you can.
Squier can't stop winning
They're a fantastic brand, I hope they'll release their accurate version of a Fender XII one day (like the Vintage Modified Bass VI)

The 'Stairway' solo was recorded on a Telecaster, and 'Rain Song' was done on a Danelectro.

Sounds glorious with what I consider to be the biggest steal of a used amp in decades. You can't go wrong with this XII or the AC15C1.

I like this Squire concept, but I wished they would have went with a Strat body.
But it's based after the Jazzmaster 12 string from the 60's!
I think Jimmy bought the double neck just to perform “Stairway….” live so he could avoid trying to switch between the 12 string and 6 string.
my brand new one isn't that well in tune. But, it does play very nice.
