As much as I hate the Steelers, I love it when BAL and PIT are both on top. BEST RIVALRY EVER. It's going to be an epic memorable game on Sunday. Let's go Ravens!
Absolutely nothing better than watching Ravens-Steelers games during the late 2000s/early 2010s. Just two great teams going at it with everything they got. Best rivalry in the NFL.
Like every year, the two meet again to gain an edge in the division. 18 years running and these two can never outduel the other without playoff implications.
As a Ravens fan, this is my personal favorite game from the rivalry. Not only because it was the first time we swept Pittsburgh under Harbaugh and I got bragging rights over a friend of mine at the time. But to me, this was the moment we got over the hump and broke through. Even though we would win the Super Bowl the next season.
In 2015 , our 5 & 11 injury riddled team's only bright spot was sweeping Pittsburgh, accounting for 40% of our season's wins ! 😂 It was perfect in that no matter how bad our season looked, no one from Pittsburgh could say shlt ! 🤣
Unfortunately it was also a year I thought the team would win a superbowl. So I made a $1,000 futures bet when the odds were at 30 to 1 So sweeping Pittsburgh was a small bright spot on the season from hell !
That game was crucial for the Steelers season. Because they were swept by Ravens, they finished second in AFC North after both teams finished 12-4 (Baltimore won the tiebreaker head-to-head). Therefore Pittsburgh was forced to play at Wild Card Round at Denver. And then Tim Tebow and Demaryius Thomas showed up, but that's a story for another NFL Throwback episode.
Ed hartwell ,adalius Thomas and many others were free agent busts when they left the ravens, zadarous Smith for my packers was one of the few who worked out
I got goosebumps watching this all over again. If I remember correctly there was a lot of chatter about how the Flacco/Harbaugh Ravens couldn't win in Pittsburgh the previous three years when Ben was playing. This night got rid of that criticism. Ed Reed throwing his hands up in the air is an image that sticks with me. Loved this rivalry, and it looks like it's heating up against this weekend.
As a Steelers fan that Joe Flacco throw to Tory Smith was the most demoralizing moment I have ever experienced. Just seeing that ball float to a wide open Smith with no time left killed me , this game was the definition of the Steelers Ravens rivalry as the one loss felt like two.
Remember this game like it was yesterday. Torrey Smith was a rookie that year and had his issues with drops. Was so happy for him to come back at that last drive and catch that Game-winner from Flacco
Niners fan here. I grew up in a family of Cowboys & Steelers. I remember being just a kid watching this rivalry clash & you would always be in for a good game every time
I remember watching this game live 11 years ago. When Flacco threw that last second touchdown I screamed "YES" at the top of my lungs. I'll never forget that moment.
A Raven fan here, and this rivalry is something not seen in any other sport when you look at the margin of victory/defeat going back many seasons..I don't have the exact figure but it's an astonishing 3 pts or less average, like I said going back many seasons. It doesn't matter what each other's records are, how much better one team is on paper, IT ALWAYS COMES DOWN TO THE WIRE..simply incredible
This game is interesting because that week John Harbaugh decided to play Renegade at practice all week. That was an advantage because when it was played for real we never quit nor felt sick.
Mckinnie, Grubbs, Birk, Yanda and Oher. What offensive line, unbelievable. People give Harbaugh much more credit then he deserve. Look to the defense, Suggs, Lewis, Reed, Hgata. You can say whatever you want about Flacco, but he have some good year's, the only to times he have a good offensive coach, Jim Caldwell and Gary Kubiak, he have a very good year.
My favorite part of this game is 12:47 , when Foote and Harrison jump in and rip the Ravens player completely out of the way. AND Harrison made the sack and fumble! THAT is the spirit to win!!
I'm kind of new to football, this last super bowl really got me into it. So whenever I'm watching this type of old videos and see the bengals #1 on the conference, I can't help but laugh
Everyone always thought of Harrison when talking about the helmet to helmet adjustment being made around this time, but Clark also had a fought time making the change
One thing we all know would happen in this Ravens/Steelers rivalry was a Joe Flacco sack/fumble. I swear this happened at least once per game, and at the WORST times too.
This game made me a Raven's fan. Nobody covered Big Ben like Ray Lewis. Polamalu was the BANE of Flacco's existence. Damn good rivalry. Let's go Ravens this Sunday! Repeat Repeat!
