      A drone can get significantly more detail if spying let’s say compared to a satellite feed.
      That said this is a ridiculous ban. Just because the Chinese drones own the market share the US wants to ban it to have monopoly over their overpriced drones.

    • @infn8loopmusic
      @infn8loopmusic วันที่ผ่านมา

      For one, satellites only pass by the earth every so often so you have no control over the timing of the images.
      I think the worry is about facial recognition being used to identify individuals and or information gathering of infrastructure. For instance there's a hydro electric dam behind my house it supplies power to the whole town you can see it from space on satellite, but you can't see what time the workers come in and out of there and when it's left unattended, but a drone could capture that completely unintentionally and expose it to bad actors (potentially) if they have planted a root kit in the drone and it's "phoning home" with all the images. Which... It very well could be. (But if there's no proof of that... I don't think they should be able to ban it) So... Where's the proof?

    I suggest everyone seeing this, especially professional pilots, go comment. Go offer to demonstrate how we use drones to make money. This is a huge hit to the economy in many sectors. Toy drones are not always toys. We need our prominent figures in the community like Justin or Joshua Bardwell to go in front of congress and explain and demonstrate different drone types and uses. They are wildly confused because of the skydio lobby this year. I also fear that Amazon and Walmart are exerting pressure to clear the sky for their own deliver drones..........that use chinese components.

  • @jimmccandless4307
    @jimmccandless4307 10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    With Google Earth worldwide access to even my vehicles parked on my driveway it is Ludacris to imply drones are a security threat especially with all the prohibited, as well as restricted airspace and other access to drones that are controlled by the FAA !
    If an area is sensitive the FAA will issue a TFR (Temporary flight restriction) that restrict drone access to that TFR..
    ALL Dji drones that I fly have (GEOFENCING) that stops us from flying in the prohibited or restricted areas! Also our drones broadcast our location and our registration number so that if we are flying illegally the FAA is notified !
    The Faa now permits drones to fly at night in class G uncontrolled airspace, but they must have lights that are visible for 3 statute miles ! All drones over 250 grams must be registered and broadcast their FAA registration number as well as the current location of the drone as well as the controlling transmitter.

  • @infinityphotorob
    @infinityphotorob วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Here is the funny part. RID. This is the broadcasting component. For some reason the Govt got the idea that a foreign entity could take control of your drone and do harm. Like they are going to tell the drone to crawl over and charge your batteries, plug itself in, then fly out of your house for the whooping 4 or 5 min flight time of an FPV drone. What it comes down to is our Govt and the FAA have no idea how we use drones, what drones are, and what their capabilities are.

    • @pdel303
      @pdel303 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I got an RID and after checking everything out in my opinion it is absolutely worthless. You could just put the module on the ground where you're flying and nobody will know the difference.

    Years ago each country made and sold their own stuff and had supporting industries such as TV repairmen..... then they wanted globalisation and a world market and things took a dive as jobs and industries were lost to overseas companies.... now there is a slither of this winding back and everyone is saying its the end of the world... has anyone thought that this maybe an opportunity rather than a doom and gloom situation... wouldn't it be funny to see components manufactured in the US and sold oversea in mass units..... don't get all riled up with my comment here its just my thought on a different angle......I am just an old person that has seen fashions come and go then come back into fashion again... If we thing positively about situations and turn them into opportunities then there is hope and that has to be a good thing rather than the sky is falling with every breath we take.....

      Personally I would love that IF there were comparable competing products available. This will nuke an entire segment and take half a decade or more to reestablish here AND it'll be significantly more cost prohibitive than it already is for a product that'll also likely be inferior.
      It's idiotic when we have a far more powerful surveillance device that is also made in China in your pocket or near your person 24 hours a day compared to drones which can only fly for less than an hour at a time, generally aren't connected to a broader network, and have limited field of view, age are already restricted where they can fly by software.

We need transparency I want to see proof as to what these devices are doing. At the same time remember that the 3dr solo was built essentially on two sbc (like a raspberry pi) computers running Linux, and open source software.
