Wow, this series truly captured the depth and rawness of our community's experiences. The commitment of each actor to their roles was truly brilliant! But as much as I loved it, it got me thinking: when do we move away from the narrative of struggle and hardship? When will we see our people on screen in different roles, beyond just gangsters, drug addicts, and alcoholics? Our community is so much more than that. We have stories of joy, love, resilience, and everyday life waiting to be told. Can we still capture the rawness of the Cape Flats, Eldorado Park, and other coloured communities, but showcase a comedy or a love story instead? Can we still be truthful to who we are while exploring new genres? There are countless narratives waiting to be explored within our community, from family dynamics and coming-of-age stories to historical dramas and romantic comedies. Let's challenge stereotypes, broaden representation, and celebrate the multifaceted nature of our humanity. Every community is rich with stories waiting to be told, each offering its own unique perspective and contribution to the tapestry of human experience. Let's keep pushing for diverse and authentic representation in media!
Ek likes vir cantona and I have to agree the realness of this series was on point . For someone that grew up on the cape flats die se goed en die woorde on point
I came and subscribed to show max just because i saw i could only see this series and i came when all 8 episodes was available i couldn't stop watching till the end best actor's quality production
I remember your mom, she was a beautiful woman. Always happy, jovial and never allowed the world to see her trauma and pain. Absolutely stunning woman. Can't wait to see her story❤
A beautiful woman with horrible tendencies. my sister and I were her cousins kids but she wasn't nice to us at all even though my father (Aldila Mathysen) was her 'best' cousin.
love this interview.. we as people of color must break the cycle of gangsters.. I have nothing against any gang. I know its part of how people grew up and all that, but we don't have be associated with gangsters. Love the podcast
Ny man that ouens that just walked in mos have no lyn, soema verby die camera, Tjek. Yuzriq you must put them in lyn. Not kwaai shows the level of respect. But on the other hand not to take away from the POD, this podcast real and true, lekker pod. I went to go watch spinners after this interview and its nogals a jas series.
Beautiful performances in Spinners and Blood &Water. Such an inspiring talent ❤ Just wish I could understand the coloured slang but beautiful interview none the less.
Toekomsrus in Randfontein is very Afrikaans. Cantona grew up both iñ the Coloured community and in the suburbs and there are a lot of Afrikaans schools. I thought he was from the Cape but in this interview he sounds just like Coloured children who went to school with white Afrikaans children. So he's fluent in both but more comfortable in Afrikaans.
@@NazeemGalant the story won't spark everyone because of the content of the story but it will reach someone wether it's a small documentary or something else
I feel for the oppressed that story of the day to day in the ghetto yet the people can't feel comfortable in thier own communities im not of color but ive slept by friends.
