- Ozark turned out to be a huge success, especially with its recent premiere of season 3.
But the more you watch the Ozark Netflix series, the more questions arise. We are going to snick under Ozark season 3 and figure out all the details and easter eggs цhat you didn't know. Turns out Jason Bateman wasn’t on board with Ozark cast, when the script came in.
He was interested in directing but not so much in acting, so when the opportunity to do both presented itself, Bateman finally decided to join the production. And we doubt he regrets the decision as, for his work on Ozark, he has won a SAGA award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor and received an Emmy statue for Outstanding Directing. This what not the case with Laura Linney who is the main star of the Ozark series from very beginning to Ozark season 3 premiere.
Julia Garner asked for a hand double - and it made the whole cast laugh!
Do you remember a scene in season one, where Ruth was holding a mouse by the tail and had to drop it in the water?
If only the directors knew that Julia is terrified of rodents and nearly had an absolute panic attack. She revealed that she had to run off to a bathroom because she was panicking so much, she was battling to breathe.
Eventually, the director had to find a hand double to shoot the 10-seconds long scene.
The Ozark season 3 ending was epic and very brutal.

Tom Pelphrey,(Ben) should get an Emmy for his work in season 3.......it was heart breaking.
He was amazing. Two scenes stuck out to me. The first was obvious: the scene in the cab. Watching his manic and disjointed (though somehow thoughtfully insightful) monologue in the taxi cab on the way to Helen’s house was possibly my favorite monologue in any genre of all times. The other scene that I think is underrated was when he was sitting with Wyatt wondering about what to do about Ruth. His conflict was all over his face and body. Less about what he said and more about actually being able to see the very confused hamster wondering what direction to spin on that wheel in his head. Brilliant!
The only other time I saw that man on a show was...believe it...Star Trek Deep Space Nine. His performance was phenomenal then. Unfortunately science fiction actors still don't get many accolades or awards these days.

This season was 15/10 ⭐️ before I was like “how is possible that they end this season this way?”, now I am “how is possible that they end this episode this way?”. I can’t stop watching! I hope they don’t make me wait another year and a half for next season. Waiting for the third season gave me existential crises. Jason Bateman is absolutely good at what he does ❤️

As soon as they killed off Del, I was wondering how they would keep me intrigued (huge diverts from the plot tend to have me reconsidering my time investment). But then in comes Helen with her height and domineering/frightening calm. And I immediately thought... I'm going to love watching character.

Seriously, oh shit moment. But I think that agent Maya was involved in the tip to Navarro about Helen's treachery. What is certain is Navarro killed her for being a snake and a rat. Giving that confession shit to the FBI, regardless of the betrayel to the Byrds, could have risked Navarro. It was fun watching Helen but she got what she deserved.
Did she know it was coming? remember she asked the hitman if he'd let her know when it was her time.
I think Ruth will ultimately fall out with Darlene on not wanting to kill Marty and Wendy. As much as Darlene and Wyatt may want to go through with killing them, Ruth deep down still loves them.

Idk I think her love is running out. She doesn’t like the fact they killed her dad. Wyatt isn’t going to let her forget she killed the uncles to save Marty, and she won’t wanna mess up her relationship with Wyatt again. They didn’t get payback on Frank Jr like she wanted. Not to mention now she knows how to run the books. I think she’s gonna be a big enemy to Marty and Wendy from now on

The FBI lady saved the day. She implemented Marty's plan to attack Navarro's enemy after their phone call. Likely as an attempt to save Marty's life. N
She did call Marty and warned him not to get on that plane
For me, I was amazed at how long it took Wendy to realize her brother was never going to reform and would continue to throw a monkey wrench into their lives for as long as he stayed with them. When he told Helen's daughter what her mom really did, only a fool would believe that Ben would live after that blowup. They had the money to put him in a hotel or just let him go to prison. Also amazing that Ben was still alive after all his fuckups and people he offended. Ruth seemed pretty down to earth but totally blind to what type of person Ben really was. Wendy begged her to stay away and bc Ruth got Darlene to get him out of jail, that sealed his fate and Ruth blamed everyone else for her intervention. The acting was good, but having Helen wanting to take over total control was unexpected. She should have been worried about her daughter going back to her dad and spilling the beans on her real job. Helen should have let her daughter know that if she told anyone, her whole family would be killed. The suspense and tension were there and I wonder how anyone could live with that level of stress for so long and not completely shut down.
So shocked that Helen got blown away...whoa!!!! But the acting job Jason and Laura do in that same scene my Gosh, it was amazingly stunning and perfect.they are my two favorites on the show.well jason is my top favorite. I love the total body of work he's done by him.too bad he cant get an Oscar for that type of show. The whole cast are some of the best actors I've ever seen. Love you guys , thank you for such a great and very believable Event as Ozark ...Scot j.

@@ThrghmyEyeZZ Ben's still alive. The assassin guy killed Helen's daughter. Wendy paid him off, knowing that Helen was going to soon be out of the picture, she told him and paid him to kill the girl. Wendy asks Marty about the ashes "Are they heavy?" to which Marty replies "not very" then Helen puts the phone against her shoulder and changes her expression to look almost relieved. As if she's thinking "yes, he killed the girl, not my brother". Stay tuned....

I cannot say enough literally about ALL of the characters. This is literally one of my FAVORITE series of my life. I thought Ben did a VERY good job, a few times when he cried....and then later when Laura Linney cried after his death, breath caught and my eyes burned. LOVE that intensity. Navarro is gorgeous...Ruth--over the top. Jason is doing a great job with direction and the film crew.......A+
Helen's death at the finale reeled me! That will be one of the most shocking and memorable death scenes in that show and for most shows! The blood splattered on Wendy and Marty as Navarro hugs them is epic!
Del Rio's death was more shocking for me.

I wonder if Helen's daughter was killed by Nelson. 1. She knew too much - via Ben. 2. It was a trade off to save Ben. And Wendy's complete psychotic breakdown was due to having the teen murdered. I mean why did Wendy ask Marty if his ashes were heavy? Marty replied "not really". Hmmm?

this show is nuts. i went from hating darlene's face (meaning her whole being) and liking ruth's in season 1 to now liking darlene and annoyed af at ruth. she's either cussing at everyone every sentence or doing that eye flicker cry thing. lol. i was ready for helen to go but i thought wendy'd do it. absolutely hated seeing ben go downhill. dude killed that role, he nailed "crazy brother". not convinced he's gone tho, he's too street smart.
Yeah I'm not convinced he is gone either. They never showed Marty or anyone else for that matter open up that body bag. Everything was done so fast.... We never saw the body or the face there & we never saw how he was killed off, the actual deed being done I mean. And when Marty tells Wendy that Bens ashes weren't heavy - well I didn't expect that either. I find it very odd for a show like this that doesn't shy away from showing how people are killed off to skip showing us that important death in some detail at least.

We didn't see the therapist killed but we know she's dead. I don't think they would have given the family a body if it was not Ben. What if they looked at the body or even wanted to just hold his hand; they would know it was not Ben
Since Ben's introduction (a brilliant display of heroism and psychopathy) it was repeatedly foreshadowed that Ben was going to die. He is dead. They spared the audience from the scene because it would have been unnecessarily upsetting. It was hard enough.

Is Ben really dead? We cannot definitively say yes based on what we saw and didn't see.

Navarro didn't have Ben killed, he's worth more alive; Ben is being kept somewhere safe as leverage Navarro knows Wendy is loyal because she called him in. It was a test (which was foreshadowed). If Ben was really killed Wendy would be resentful, when she finds out Navarro spared Ben she will be grateful. The body you saw cremated was the therapist. Remember, you didn't see Ben get killed nor his face in the body bag. Wendy and Marty will be sworn to keep this a secret but will have to eventually let Ruth know in order to turn her from Darlene. Season 4 will open with this revelation.
Those are all interesting theories, but the truth is Ben is not worth anything at all to Navarro - he's just a loose cannon. Wendy is the one who allowed the hit and told Navarro afterwards to prove her loyalty. The whole road trip situation was to prove to Wendy and the viewer that this character could not be saved. Wendy chose herself and her family because that was what it came down to - Ben or everyone else that she loves.
Saying the body Marty cremated belonged to Sue, the therapist, is a logical assumption if you want to believe that Ben is alive. Since we did see the body bag in her house, there's no doubt about her death. But that would be a huge plot hole. Substituting a tiny old woman's body in the place of a grown man - someone as observant as Marty would have picked up on that. Sue is at the bottom of the lake inside her stupid car.
I agree with another vlogger, who says that as satisfying as a return from Ben would be for the viewers, it would not serve the plot well at all. Plus, that "back from the dead" gimmick is so tired and used so many times over the years, I would literally stop watching the show. Suddenly, Ozark would be reduced to a soap opera. Yuk!

Ben’s death was anything but shocking. Everything he did over and over was just him walking on thin ice. Great performance by the actor though, he was great.

Since this began, it is one shocking event after another, and to just accept that is the way it is working for a Cartel. And that is why I love this show. Anything goes. Favorite character is Ruth. I do think the Bryds have unleashed HELL.

When Darlene shot the pecker off of Frank jr (which would have killed him) and then strikes up a deal with Frank Sr to distribute Darlene's heroin. Totally ruined the show.

Killed Frank Jr.? There is a chance a shotgun blast to the groin region could have shredded one or both femoral arteries...or not. Poor ole Frank Jr would definitely be pretty disfigured, but death was not a certainty.

The show is brilliant. I was shocked in the last scene of season 3. Not surprised after the fact, but that scene was pretty amazing. I am still not 100% convinced that Ben is really dead. We’re those scenes just an illusion to make us assume he is dead?

I loved it all..ALL THE CHARACTERS FLOWED...but I have to say Ben’s acting was outstanding, I felt his pain .. he represented MentalHealth Illness in such a heart felt level. I have followed Jason and Justine since I was young I’m 42 .. I’ve seen Jason grow into this outstanding ability to do whatever it take... and god bless her heart.. I hate she really doesn’t have a southern accent because the Lord she represents being southern soo good.. and she’s not lol

It's funny. Jason Bateman still pretty much plays his typecast in Ozark but somehow it works in a drama. His delivery and timing is spot on in this show as it was in Arrested Development. The characters aren't that different and he makes it work in a totally different show.
Helen's murder was the biggest shocking surprise for me, then the relationship with Darleen and #2...what the?! But ok... then Darleen shooting Frank Jr. penis?!!! Oh my, I am hooked to this show LOVE all the actors because everyone can truly give life to their characters.
My wife and realized we raised a (Non Criminal) version of Ruth. She’s funny as hell and has no filter.

This show was really a nice surprise and the third season didn’t lose a step. They have managed to keep the quality ultra high.
I would have rather seen Wendy die than Helen, I really liked Helen and am getting bored of Wendy. The only thing surprising about Ben's death is that they didn't do more to get him back on his meds.

I love the character Ruth, and I love the actress who plays her. Ben was awesome and I'm pissed that he died and even more pissed about the circumstances. I have always had a difficult time liking Wendy. I kinda hope she gets some karma next season and I kinda hope it's at the hands of Ruth.
My predictions for season 4- We don't actually see Ben get murdered at the end of Season 3. We see what seems like Nelson the hit man approaching him outside the hotel, but nothing else. Then we see what's supposed to be his body being cremated by the Byrd's in their crematorium. But is it Ben? what if Jonah finds out Ben's still alive in Season 4 and only he knows? After all, Ben knows Wendy gave up his location to Helen and he sure doesn't trust Marty either. He can only trust Ruth and Jonah and Ruth is too close to the cartel through Marty and Wendy. Obv if Wendy found out ben's alive she would not tell the Navaro So for at least part of season 4 if Ben is alive, only Jonah's knows until he tells Marty and Wendy. The daughter starts raiding Buddy's mausoleum for cash for her shady boyfriend. that she gets hooked up with in this season Wendy and Ruth go head to ead in Season 4, that should be cool to watch.

Nobody in the cast was really from the South or the Mid West. All are Yankees! However, that Ruth earned her acceptance. We'll accept this little yankee girl. Finally, this show was off the chain! I suggest you watch this show. It's the best show I've ever seen. Who would of thought a bunch of Yankees would be so good....
Of course they had to use Yankees instead of southerners. There are scripts to read and lines to memorize!

I like his interviews. I got to know the actor so much more in depth. If you want the quick interview, just watch Good Morning America or The Today Show. Those sound bites drive me crazy, even though I understand that they are trying to show you a taste of someone as you are getting ready for work, it still bugs me.
