It’s bizarre to watching this super white British girl talk about how she likes hood boys. I don’t care for it. It’s so inauthentic. Leigh-Anne and Jade were the POC members in Little Mix and they weren’t even singing about “hood boys”. I get that black culture is amazing. Black people are amazing. I just hate that she’s capitalizing off of projecting a black persona. I won’t Jesy to win I just find it strange this is the route she chose.
This has always been Jesy’s style of music. And her taste in men. And clothes. She did everything she could to fit into Little Mix, but this is what she’s always wanted to do. Add to that that the music video is basically a recreation of the original - she’s not trying to appear black.
