Straight up dude, this EP is gold standard metalcore. Mike's tiny inflections and odd deeps make this unforgettable. Especially in a time when TWD was booming. A+++.
Hearing a majority of the Zombie EP while moshing in a fucking thunderstorm at the Atlanta warped tour was one of the best festival experiences I've ever had.
Among the hardcore kids in high school, this was like some kind of second coming. "Did you listen to Zombie yet" was a question floating around home room and the rest of the school.
There's nothing quite like hearing the opening riff for Outnumbered live. One of my favorite pit experiences. I've seen them like 5 times at this point, they always bring it. Can't wait to see them again and go nuts.
that is an iconic sounding breakdown for the era. My first fave was the "oh my god, they're everywhere LORD" part and then it went to the beginning of Revive when it drops hard as shit with the vocals. Currently I've going hard to the first "Standing at accuracy's demise" at the beginning of Outnumbered.
All 5 songs are absolute bangers! To this day! You HAVE to do Space EP next. Not as heavy as this one but still a lot of texture and synth stuff like on Z1. Love the channel bro. Keep it up!
I also noticed that your descriptions of the vibes of the songs matches the lyrical content of the songs. They totally nailed making the songs FEEL like the different parts of this zombie apocalypse story. You should def look into the lyrics on your next listen through!
I recently had a first time appreciation for the lyrics throughout the EP. They do a terrifyingly good job at describing the dispair and shocking horror as if a murderous viral outbreak happened and ruined everything.
I’m with you on this Kyle. They are still great and I like Pradas new stuff a lot also, but man that was a great time. I just wish they went to Joey Sturgis still for dead throne . They did for the other two and even though I love dead throne, I think the mix is a little weak.
This is in my top 5 metal records of all time. Can't express how much I love this record, it really changed how I thought about heavy music. Plus the entire zombie genre was at the height of it's popularity when this dropped. The Walking Dead was pulling millions of viewers a week, new zombie video games were coming out, movies too... Black Ops zombies was fucking crazy with this playing. It was a time I'll never forget!
TDWP was the first metal band I had ever listened to, 12 years old in 2008. Followed them for a while and fell off a little and had to catch up to Dead Throne and Zombie EP. but after listening to both, I got their DT symbol tatted on me. But it was mostly because of the Zombie Ep. Corny but they were very instrumental part in my growth and education as a human being.
Giuseppe (the drummer) has a play through of Anatomy, on his channel! 🤘🏽 “That’s the zombie choir in the back” is now all I’ll ever think about, when I listen to Revive. 😂😂
Each song indeed has its own theme and style based on the part of story of the zombie outbreak.Your comments on the last song, survivor, are pretty accurate in its theme. It's not building to anything because, like the character of the story, he's just waiting for the end essentially.
Where im from back when this came out there was a broadcast someone put on the radio that sounded almost exactly like the start of outnumbered it had people freaking out for a few days it was interesting 😂😂
Highly recommend listening to their album with roots above and branches below. I’m personally not as big of a fan of their newer stuff, but that album was a solid!
Probably not feesable, but would love you to do the entire With Roots Above and Branches Below album, that’s the pinnacle TDWP for me, that album is a masterpiece from start to finish. Alternatively, Space EP? 😅
Jealous you get to hear this for the first time. This blew my mind when it came out since l was never really a fan of this band but this EP completely converted me.

БлЯ... смотрю твое видео и у тебя в начале идёт дождь и у меня у самого идёт дождь ) максимальное погружение ...
11 years later this EP still gives me chills
Every inch
And so much more relevant. Maybe not zombies but definitely a walking dead of a sort.

This is the greatest EP to ever EP. The mothership.
Outnumbered really stuck out for me back in 2010 when this came out and man it still hits hard to this day.
Hearing a majority of the Zombie EP while moshing in a fucking thunderstorm at the Atlanta warped tour was one of the best festival experiences I've ever had.
Shit that didn't happen
This EP I love for lirycs, the brutality, the breakdowns, the screams. All is perfect. I heard these tracks in 2010
This EP was fucking unreal. Can’t even say how many times I listened to this all the way through without any skips. Every song is amazing.
Among the hardcore kids in high school, this was like some kind of second coming. "Did you listen to Zombie yet" was a question floating around home room and the rest of the school.
Wish I had hardcore kids in my high school, I was the only one to ever listen to these typa music :(
also you HAVE to check out their Space EP next
I’m glad to see this. I feel like people just kinda dismissed it but it was so much better than the other stuff they put out around the same time.
There's nothing quite like hearing the opening riff for Outnumbered live. One of my favorite pit experiences. I've seen them like 5 times at this point, they always bring it. Can't wait to see them again and go nuts.
This was 10/10 my favorite release from them. Next to with roots above and branches below

This breakdown
THIS BREAKDOWN RIGHT THERE
Saw a whole generation born
Thank's TDWP they never dissapoint
And well done Hoop, we love you
My favorite part of the ep!
That breakdown put hair on a lot of our chests back in the day
The breakdown on escape is my fav

The cleans in this ep are unrivaled
i was WAITING for this from you. one of the best metal core projects ever. it's brilliant
Still upsets me that they never used any of these songs in the walking dead. I would’ve lost my mind if I heard any of this on the show.
All 5 songs are absolute bangers! To this day! You HAVE to do Space EP next. Not as heavy as this one but still a lot of texture and synth stuff like on Z1. Love the channel bro. Keep it up!
Looking back from 2022, this EP was quite simply the apex of the genre.
I also noticed that your descriptions of the vibes of the songs matches the lyrical content of the songs. They totally nailed making the songs FEEL like the different parts of this zombie apocalypse story. You should def look into the lyrics on your next listen through!

Roots Above, Zombie and Dead Throne is a 3-album stretch that’s pretty tough to beat in the more modern metal era in my opinion
I think Plagues, With Roots, Zombie was unbelievable. Dead Throne was good. Just screams were lacking
I’m with you on this Kyle. They are still great and I like Pradas new stuff a lot also, but man that was a great time.
I just wish they went to Joey Sturgis still for dead throne . They did for the other two and even though I love dead throne, I think the mix is a little weak.
Plagues also
They had a 4 album stretch where they were top of the food chain

I'm super late to this video but really really cool things happen whenever TDWP puts a theme to an EP or album. Their Space EP is awesome.
Aw you're the goat for this one. And so was TDWP back then!
@10:37 FIND YOUR POST FIND YOUR SHELTER!!!
Best lines in a song. You can imagine everyone yelling this at a show
One of the best EP's of all time 🔥🔥
I honestly think this EP is quite a bit better than the second one. This EP hit me in my soul.
ZII doesn’t even touch this masterpiece.

👍
How do I say that? If I wanted to look it up.

You HAVE to do the space EP 😍
13 years later and the “my life’s in gods hands never within man’s teeth blegh” breakdown is 😩

One of my favourite EP's of all time this I still listen to this to this day ngl
This was also Mike's peak performance in my opinion. He doesn't sound the same at all anymore.
A good ep to listen to on Halloween 🎃
Goated, Hall of Fame, Masterpiece, all that shit man. This EP slams forever
Where im from back when this came out there was a broadcast someone put on the radio that sounded almost exactly like the start of outnumbered it had people freaking out for a few days it was interesting 😂😂

And Death Throne!
That album is just a fun time. I love it.

Probably not feesable, but would love you to do the entire With Roots Above and Branches Below album, that’s the pinnacle TDWP for me, that album is a masterpiece from start to finish.

“Oh I hear the walkers”
Tell me you’ve watched The Walking Dead without letting me you’ve watched The Walking Dead lol
I still lose it to that transition of escape to anatomy.

Now you need to do Space EP, it's my favorite from them, it's a great journey and you'll be tearing up by the end of it
Do the Space EP next! It's about the same length and is super fun to listen to!
