    I think it is not right for these schools to let in students who do not have any experience as a Psyvh RN! My school required it, but it was a long time ago so I don’t remember the number of years required. Employers are telling the new grads to go be a Psych RN for a few years! As for the money- some of the RNs on our unit make more or about the same as I do. They get holiday and overtime pay. I’m salary. However, I love my job. I feel I make an impact and do have autonomy and flexibility. I’ve been PMHNP for over 11 years and just wish I had done it sooner! There are many PMHNPs but due to many being new grads there are so many jobs out there! I get info every day- calls, emails, texts, etc. I think we are finally proving our worth that employers see the benefit and hiring more of us. 😊. Hopefully they will start paying us appropriately for all the work we do.

    • @PMHNP101
      @PMHNP101 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @rakan23nurse Congratulations on your passion for pursuing a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program! Several U.S. universities offer on-campus PMHNP programs that could meet your requirement for at least half of the study to be on campus. Here are a few options:
      Stony Brook University - SUNY, Stony Brook, NY: Offers a hybrid PMHNP program with both online lectures and specific on-campus requirements.
      NURSING PROCESS
      Pace University, New York, NY: Provides a part-time online format with 1-2 on-campus visits per semester, allowing students to continue employment while completing the program.
      PACE UNIVERSITY
      Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN: Offers a PMHNP specialty as part of its Master of Science in Nursing program, with on-campus requirements.
      VANDERBILT NURSING
      Columbia University School of Nursing, New York, NY: Provides a PMHNP program with on-campus classes and clinical placements.
      WIKIPEDIA
      University of Maryland School of Nursing, Baltimore, MD: Offers a PMHNP program with on-campus coursework and clinical experiences.
      WIKIPEDIA
      When considering these programs, it's essential to:
      Verify Accreditation: Ensure the program is accredited by relevant nursing education bodies.
      Understand Clinical Placement Support: Inquire about assistance with clinical placements, especially as an international student.
      Review Admission Requirements: Check for any prerequisites or specific requirements for international applicants.
      Consider Location and Visa Requirements: Be mindful of the location concerning your visa and travel logistics.
      Reaching out directly to the admissions offices of these universities can provide more detailed information tailored to your situation. Best of luck on your educational journey!
