Question for the Lonely Island guys- I’m interested in hearing your take on the Please Don’t Destroy videos- specifically, which group of three do you think would win in a full stack chicken fight? Would the result change based on the way you order yourselves?
I rented Hot Rod from the video store when it came out. I wasnt even watching SNL at the time so I didnt know any of the actors. I watched it at least two times and then I bought a Hot Rod poster from the video store and had it hanging in my cubicle at work for a long time.
I think this is your best episode yet. There is something so casual about it that made me feel like I was sitting in the room with you guys. Even though you guys aren’t in the same room.
Question for the boys: what is Jorm saying at the end of the second verse of Jack sparrow where Bolton comes and interrupts? “I know I make you feel crazy with the-“ and then he interrupts with “NOW BACK TO THE GOOD PART”. It’s such a small thing in the song but every time I’m singing along I have no idea what to say lol. Love you guys :)
“I know I make you feel crazy when I make you cum” is what would rhyme and make sense there, plus it makes sense why they interrupted it, because it’s dirty.
Will we ever get a proper ending for "The 'Bu"? I've been hanging on that cliff edge for years, my forearms are so beefy. Also I watched your DVD commentary version of Hot Rod way too many times to the point that I've forgotten what's in the OG movie and what came from the commentary.
I love that some of their comedy genius came from them being forced into making something with limited time. Even if they shit something out that they don't think is memorable, we love it. I'm really loving this podcast. It's gonna be a while to get to, but I'd love to hear some stories from Brigsby Bear.
Hey guys, I don't know if I'll get any answers, but here goes. If you were to create a music video with Seth, what would the name of the song be and why?
I love that they chose two of the best songs when asked which ones they’d want to make videos for. I even had my own idea of the most low budget possible version of Japan where the joke is that they clearly aren’t in Japan and aren’t able to pay for any of these things. The idea was mostly just like a fan made video but I have never gotten around to making it.
That is some serious ventriloquism. Their lips don't move when they talk. It's like cross between the Teletubbies and the sun baby. Also, so far, none of their memories include aardvarks, which I think is odd.
If you're still taking questions: Is Lorne funny? Like, does he make quips, bust balls, spin a yarn, anything like that? I only think I've seen Lorne as a caricature of himself.
44:26 the first Wayne's World was in the Leslie Nielsen show, it was already a recurring sketch by the time they did the Tom Hanks/Aerosmith one a year later! (although that was probably the turning point into blockbuster status? Maybe that's why Seth is misremembering it as the first...) I feel like a handful of the Wayne's World sketches through the years incorporated the stairs but I can't speak to whether or not that meant those particular sketches couldn't have been at home base.
Question for the lonely island. I showed my 7 year old daughter Hot Rod and now she won't stop doing the Richardson Dance and saying "Like what you see?" How do I make it stop?!
Favorite Lonely Island song that doesn't have a(n official) video: Punch You In Your Jeans. But I can't imagine a video being any funnier than the song itself already is.
for the boys: is there any song from the Popstar album you wish had made it into the movie? weird fun fact: I made an article about the monalisa song in my graphic design grad school
Question: You answered a question about the possibility of making new music. What are the chances of another tour? Saw you in Detroit in 2019 and would love to see you guys again! Add Cleveland to the tour next time!
I have 2 questions, one for Seth: If the podcast continues until all the digital shorts have been covered, will you continue with Mike O’Brien, or the good neighbor guys? And one for the lonely island: If the podcast continues until all the digital shorts have been covered, which SNL alum/talk show host would you choose to go over the digital shorts again with?
I'd imagine the pod would wrap up for good once they cover all the shorts. Andy's disdain for podcasts may be a bit, but I think there's a kernel of truth/honesty in there.
looking forward to you guys talking about one of the most iconic digital shorts next week aka iran so far, but also another random question for seth and tli: if you could choose to only remember 1 episode across all the seasons of your time at snl which would it be and why?
Question for The Lonely Isalnd guys: what can you say about the first 2 Lonely Island pilots (the ones that pre-date Awesometown) that are available on your website? Interesting to see people like Brooke Shields and Kal Penn pop up when that's such early stuff for you. Also, for fun I entered all the guy's names into the Wu Tang Name Generator where Donald Glover got the name Childish Gambino from Andy - Tuff Contender Akiva - The Crazy Knight Jorma - Phantom Menace Seth - Zexy Killah And I had to share the one they gave me: Dubious Masturbator
Hi there. Great episode. My question is, how does The Lonely Island feel about Please Don't Destroy and have you all seen the skit where they and Dakota Johnson roast each other? The Lonely Island was named dropped in it. Also, can you please get Pete Davidson to feature on your next album? His work from home raps were pretty dope.
'Rocky' and "Perfect Saturday" definitely deserved videos, two songs where Andy's character dies. I would love to hear the fellas explain the ideology behind "I Fucked My Aunt" how'd that song come about?
Hey guys, G'day from Australia. Love the podcast! I want to ask, when, if ever, did it hit you that your shorts were popular world wide? I remember I first saw your work when they played Jizz in my Pants on the news here!
Question/wish: I first came across the Lonely Island boys doing The 'Bu on Channel 101. Any chance of mini-episodes talking about each ep of The 'Bu. Barring that, just a conversation about the Channel 101 days?
Question: The SNL wiki says there are 46 digital shorts. Add in 2 for Hot Rod, 2 for Popstar, and hopefully 1 for Bash Brothers, is your goal to aim for a full year of this show? Will Andy last that long?
Question for the lonely island- I took my sister to Clusterfest for her college graduation to see your first live performance. We wanted to know what the room number Michael Bolton was staying in and how many people, if any tried, to come to that room
Y'all gonna talk about the tour the lonely island did? I saw the 1 or 2 am CST set at Bonnaroo and thought it was a great show! Was Chris Parnell the only guest you all had? Also the next day at Bonnaroo Maya Rudolph's Prince band played, and this was right after The Bash Brothers song with her came out. Any discussion of her joining?
Question for the Lonely Island - so many of the musical shorts were either Andy + Jorma or Andy + Akiva. Was that due to Andy's role as cast member vs. yours as writers, or your workloads on a given week?
Hi, I have a somewhat unrelated question for the podcast. I was wondering if TLI had ever thought about pursuing the life story biopic of The Party Andersons?
Question: You may not realise, but many people in the UK might have first heard of Andy Samberg from the show Cuckoo. I guess my question is... How the fuck did that come about? And does Andy still know all the words to Don't You Want Me by the Human League?
Question for everyone: what’s the one piece of Lonely Island art you think deserved more love than it got? For me it’s gotta be 7 Days In Hell - please do a pod on it in the future!
I'm sorry but anytime I see Seth Meyers and Andy Samberg discuss any type of dog, I think of poor Frisbee! My neighbor has a dog that looks like that, and my wife and I make fun of it all the time.. We call it a "Lil Stick boy" but I think it's a girl. (My dog and "lil stick boy" bark battle all the time)
I have a question for Seth-- you mentioned once during your show that you were upset that you didn't have your own Ben & Jerry's flavor like Colbert and Fallon and wanted one of your own called Future Lick. What flavor would you want it to be if Future Lick existed, and how do we make that happen?
Its less of a question and more a statement but i would love to hear akiva talk about working with/ directing the music videos for the 3 we are scientists. Any interesting/fun anecdots?
So you know how South Park in its olden days used to basically be nothing but fart jokes, sex jokes and constant swearing but now it's more of a sociopolitical satirization of our wild reality? My question is, would you say The Lonely Island has experienced a similar growth over the years in terms of the jokes being made in the songs? And also, as comedians, would you say that your sense of humor has changed over time as you have grown older and more mature, or has it pretty much remained the same?
Question for Lonely Island: did you ever bet on adding weird absurd terms to your songs? Like boiled goose seems so out of place, it feels like a lost bet.
Another Question for you guys, do you ever listen to "Fly on the Wall" or "Superfly"? Would you guys ever work with those dudes? I do think this podcast is better.
just a comment, SNL wasnt huge in Brazil, but I had friends in the US from a young age - so many jokes didnt land until much later. did you guys ever think about that when writing?
Hello! I'm a film student and have a question for Akiva. In the context of auteur theory, how does the visual style and thematic consistency in the works of directors like Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino reflect how your butt feels?????
My stupid Natalie Raps story making the podcast has made me so happy.
Well, it _is_ an incredible story 😄
It's not on youtube? How can we do our homework and watch it before listening to the podcast?
They put a Kelly Clarkson song in the video so they would never be able to put it on TH-cam.
I tried to watch it on the Braff episode via peacock and that version even removed the digital short
It’s on tumblr
internet archive, baby!
The magical world of tumblr has it if you search it on safari lol
Ad ends at 27:21
Thankyou for your service
I'M A STYLE BOY FOR LIFE
hell yeah new episode of 4 shock jocks!!!!
*Andy holds frisbee* AND HE THREW IT ON THE GROUND
😂
Question for the Lonely Island guys- I’m interested in hearing your take on the Please Don’t Destroy videos- specifically, which group of three do you think would win in a full stack chicken fight? Would the result change based on the way you order yourselves?

I think this is your best episode yet. There is something so casual about it that made me feel like I was sitting in the room with you guys. Even though you guys aren’t in the same room.
This podcast is the best way to start my day😂 thank you for the memories and laughs. Thank you for sharing your friendships.
I can’t believe they actually had the chance to make a video for Japan, I could have seen three cool white friends dumping Pokémon in the river 😭
We really need video for this podcast. How else can we truly comprehend the eldritch horror that is Frisbee?
Correction Seth, Herschel Walker ran for Senator not Governor of GA
-Signed a traumatized GA resident (lol)
love seeing the jackals here🐾
Question for the boys: what is Jorm saying at the end of the second verse of Jack sparrow where Bolton comes and interrupts? “I know I make you feel crazy with the-“ and then he interrupts with “NOW BACK TO THE GOOD PART”.
It’s such a small thing in the song but every time I’m singing along I have no idea what to say lol. Love you guys :)
“I know I make you feel crazy when I make you cum” is what would rhyme and make sense there, plus it makes sense why they interrupted it, because it’s dirty.
Semi-colon?
That was my dad's favourite punctuation mark, because he had a colostomy.
Andy's Jorma impression, near the beginning, sounds exactly like Jorma!
Will we ever get a proper ending for "The 'Bu"? I've been hanging on that cliff edge for years, my forearms are so beefy.
Also I watched your DVD commentary version of Hot Rod way too many times to the point that I've forgotten what's in the OG movie and what came from the commentary.
The fckn buuuuuu!!! 😂
I love that some of their comedy genius came from them being forced into making something with limited time. Even if they shit something out that they don't think is memorable, we love it. I'm really loving this podcast. It's gonna be a while to get to, but I'd love to hear some stories from Brigsby Bear.
“No Homo” is a damn bop. I would love to know what you have done for a video. Love the podcast and your adorable friendship quartet… no homo 😅.
I cannot accept that Jorma watches corrections if he thinks that is the calm version of Seth lmaoo
fellow jackal reporting 🐾
kinda crazy that the 2005 featured players now have 60 emmy noms between them, and won 8 of them
Hey guys, I don't know if I'll get any answers, but here goes. If you were to create a music video with Seth, what would the name of the song be and why?
One day those kids will give you a bunch of money to make Hot Rod 2 ya'll
We can start a gofundme. I mean their budget was a million and they didn't need a million, so if we reach that, they'll be good.
Came to see Frisbee after Seth said pop over to TH-cam, but no Frisbee video 😢
Best first 3 minutes, I'm dying
I watched the sketch yesterday and it was excellent. Also, My Testicles rules
8lbs gross oz 😂
Those first few minutes are an absolute killer opening segment.
Please make merch for the pod!!!!!
That's so funny. I always thought part of the joke of Japan is that there was no video.
Used to look forward to the Monday Two Bears podcast, but this is a lot better.
That is some serious ventriloquism. Their lips don't move when they talk. It's like cross between the Teletubbies and the sun baby. Also, so far, none of their memories include aardvarks, which I think is odd.
I hot the thumbs up before it even starts. Happy Monday everyone ❤
another question for the pod: did you ever keep any of the wardrobe/ set pieces from sketches or was that not allowed?
If you're still taking questions: Is Lorne funny? Like, does he make quips, bust balls, spin a yarn, anything like that? I only think I've seen Lorne as a caricature of himself.
44:26 the first Wayne's World was in the Leslie Nielsen show, it was already a recurring sketch by the time they did the Tom Hanks/Aerosmith one a year later! I feel like a handful of the Wayne's World sketches through the years incorporated the stairs but I can't speak to whether or not that meant those particular sketches couldn't have been at home base.
The Jorma bits were brilliant!
Question for the lonely island. I showed my 7 year old daughter Hot Rod and now she won't stop doing the Richardson Dance and saying "Like what you see?" How do I make it stop?!
i think you have no choice but to give her up for adoption
My question made it on the podcast!! Yessss!!! Brian Diaries 29.30 whoop whoop 🙌🙌🙌
I really want a music video and extended version of The Old Saloon
Best podcast going 😁
Favorite Lonely Island song that doesn't have a(n official) video: Punch You In Your Jeans.
But I can't imagine a video being any funnier than the song itself already is.
one hundred percent agree.. i remember watching fan made videos on yt lol
Question for Seth: will we ever see a reprise of your classic character, William Fitzpatrick in a new Top O’ the Morning sketch?
for the boys: is there any song from the Popstar album you wish had made it into the movie? weird fun fact: I made an article about the monalisa song in my graphic design grad school
I hope we get a Popstar episode. Such an underrated movie.
@@beewcar yes! all of the songs in popstar are masterpieces
Corrections was mentioned!! 🐾🐾
please talk about Land of the Lost Jorma
Ugh, the cold open was removed from the episode on peacock.
WHy is this podcast hidden or not part of the main playlist? It only appeared as a "Play next" link after the most recent podcast....
This episode is missing from the playlist.
This one isn't in your playlist paired with the call for Criterion votes. Sincerely, someone putting way too much thought into my votes. 😆
Question: what digital short would you make again so that it would apart of the criterion collection?
What is Andy's plan for when Frisbee dies?
Please do an episode on the Backseatsman.
Andy, would you have changed anything on this sketch if you had to do it with Frisbee?
Question: You answered a question about the possibility of making new music. What are the chances of another tour? Saw you in Detroit in 2019 and would love to see you guys again! Add Cleveland to the tour next time!
Hey all, is it possible to put the full sketches in the youtube version? Not all of them seem to be available.
Question: did something happen to Andy with a dog? Is he just ambivalent toward them? Is it active dislike?
Frisbee was born 😔

Andy - Tuff Contender
Akiva - The Crazy Knight
Jorma - Phantom Menace
Seth - Zexy Killah
And I had to share the one they gave me: Dubious Masturbator

Question for the pod: what's your favorite John Mulaney joke?
I miss the time when you put links to the shorts in the description. Those were the days
as mentioned, this one isn't online
Happy TLI monday ❤🐶
@34:04 I always assumed the fact that there was no music video for "Japan" was part of the whole joke -- it didn't work.
Lonely Island Memento should be a thing somewhere #please 🙆♀
'Rocky' and "Perfect Saturday" definitely deserved videos, two songs where Andy's character dies. I would love to hear the fellas explain the ideology behind "I Fucked My Aunt" how'd that song come about?

I could have SWORN there WAS a video for 'Japan'. This is either Mandela Effect, or you're lying to me Seth.
WHY WOULD YOU LIE TO ME SETH?!?!?!
Q 4 da pod: if u guys could be in a movie with any actor who would u pick?
Nooice!!!
Question: The SNL wiki says there are 46 digital shorts. Add in 2 for Hot Rod, 2 for Popstar, and hopefully 1 for Bash Brothers, is your goal to aim for a full year of this show? Will Andy last that long?
Question are we going to get Underground Records episode?
Is there any chance to get video too.. Please..

My GOD Andy is so hot in that show

(My dog and "lil stick boy" bark battle all the time)
Question for the boys: When the Lonely Island biopic comes out (titled The Loneliest Island) which actors will play each of you?
Hey Seth, do you know the difference between an autobiography and a biography?
I have a question for Seth-- you mentioned once during your show that you were upset that you didn't have your own Ben & Jerry's flavor like Colbert and Fallon and wanted one of your own called Future Lick. What flavor would you want it to be if Future Lick existed, and how do we make that happen?
Its less of a question and more a statement but i would love to hear akiva talk about working with/ directing the music videos for the 3 we are scientists. Any interesting/fun anecdots?
Must love dogs.
Serious question: how did Jorm draw the short straw to do the ad reads with Seth? Seth was doing the reads no matter what.
So you know how South Park in its olden days used to basically be nothing but fart jokes, sex jokes and constant swearing but now it's more of a sociopolitical satirization of our wild reality? Hello! I'm a film student and have a question for Akiva.
In the context of auteur theory, how does the visual style and thematic consistency in the works of directors like Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino reflect how your butt feels?????
“Are you about to kiss my dog?” …Not logical? Um… unless your dog is totally hot
Question: if you could cast anyone you ever would want, what what your perfect digital short look like? challenge: it can't include dongs
Question for the show: Who owns the lonely island? NBC or The guys?
Hey guys, What sketch do the fans love but you all despise the most?
Question for TLI: have you guys ever considered a film around the Dick In A Box guys?
