Hi Claudia, i bought pointe shoes on eBay but I'm not sure what kind of pointe shoes they are and I've been trying to break them but It's super difficult ,They have a hard big box in the front can i send you a picture on instagram 😊
I wonder if the pointe shoes are made for photoshoots, etc, where people can’t be bothered to hire a proper dancer - like, they’re easy to balance on, look passable en pointe but atrocious when flat, etc etc.

@@angele4091 Rhythmic gymnasts typically use half shoes made of leather or canvas. Just looks like the front part of a ballet shoe with elastics to go around the heel. Acro gymnastics would use floor or beam shoes (have a full rubber sole on the bottom while the uppers do look like ballet shoes).
Oh please try aliexpress. They have lots of chinese pointe shoes brands and also sansha products! Pleaaaase! And have you heard of the cuban pointe shoes? Pleaseer review them!
A friend got surprisingly good chinese pointes from Aliexpress lmaoo, she was killing shoe after shoe so she gave it a go to ease up on her wallet and they were actually pretty good
There actually shouldnt. It can be dangerous, in very best case you learn it wrong ( because no one supervises you) and will have trouble in future. In worst case you might get injured

I actually bought a practice tutu from amazon. There’s not a whole lot of options I think I paid 36$ for it. And it smelled weird and it was Chinese (no big deal) but the size women’s small was super small. I managed to fit but it was a little tight until I got it on. Overall it’s not bad and really pretty! I practice with it a lot
Those purple ballet flats are giving me flashbacks to when I was little and had ballet shoes that were a too big so I’d be pointing my foot as much as I possibly could but my teacher would still be like “POINT YOUR TOES” and I was so confused as to why I was pointing as hard as I could but it just looked floppy! 😂 😂 😭

Like there's nothing there and it drives me to insanity. I think you would make not only me but a million guys out there soo happy if you find some male friends dancers and talk about where they shop, if at all. I feel like most guys just make their training clothes on custom. I'm actually serious, there's a massive industry gap here that no one seems to notice it and like, men are human too, we also want to look good in the workshops, professionals or not 🤣😬 thanks again, you're changing ballet teaching forever and I absolutely adore you and your optimistic self!!

I have a little blue star tattooed on each each inner heal, just below the ankle... Because when I was little, my mom would take a pen and draw a tiny star on the inner heal of each ballet slipper (so i would know which one was right and left) So whenever Iook at my tattoos, i not onky think about dance, but of my mother too!! 💙
The Gaynor Minden pointe shoes have the drawstrings in the side. I didn’t know there were any kind of flat shoes with them on the side. I just found that kind of interesting.
Bloch has some flat shoes with mesh in the arch zone, their called pro-arch. I've wore them for almost 5 years, the other day I bought the performa ones to try them. Let's see how they work.

The camera angles are so wide and move all the time. Its kinda hard for me to get whats happening since I have no knowledge of any of this and rely on the visual so much
The slips with leather on toes could be perfect when doing a workshop/classes where ballet studio have wooden floors. Dusty wood floors aren't sticky and no need to worry about splinters with leather covered toes.

The canvas ones at 10:46 are actually widely used in Romania in both schools and private clubs, both during classes and on stage. They are mainly sold in three colors - white, black, and red, light pink being the fourth color, only it's not found everywhere. They are made in China and aren't expensive - 15 RON/pair, which roughly means 3.5 USD.
I really enjoyed this vid. I buy a lot of cheap dance wear on Amazon for my 8 year old. She dances 4-5 days a week and grows out of everything so fast, after the cost of tuition, competitions, conventions, and costumes I just have to go cheap on daily class wear. Her feet are getting wide like mine though so we do have to buy shoes at a store. We also live in a rural area and the closest dancewear store is over an hour away. It's really hard to find time to make the trip working 50 hours a week and sitting in a studio 10-15 hours a week. I just can't beat Amazon's 2 day home delivery. I have been very lucky with real cheap leos so far, only got a bizarre size/cut once. I run them all in the washer and dryer too!
Hey you know, gotta do what you gotta do. Im glad you try so hard for her. I loved gymnastics as a kid but it was so expensive we had to quit within a year. Its still my favorite sport and I wish I could've continued. I hope you can keep her in as long as she wants

Omgg! I have the pink satin pointe shoes, for an outside photo shoot, so I don't ruin my 140 dollar ones, and I was very surprised by the quality of them too!
The s.lemon brand flats my mom and I bought on a whim. My niece had just started pre ballet/ballet 1 age 5. The capezio shoes that were originally bought for her were too too small. I tried to do the freezer stretch with sticks I did to save money (ya, dance aint cheap) haha. Sadly did not work. My mom found the canvas "practice" shoes on Amazon. For a kid with sensitive skin they were amazing! Was hard to get her to take them off. Are they super pretty on the bottom? No. Did they work for and encourage dance in a comfortable way for starters!? Oh YA! So for that I recommend. Age ten and up nope, better off to get a traditional class flat sure.
My personal favorites for flatt shoes are Stelle brand. Especially leather soled. I got them off Amazon. They're really affordable ($10), and I absolutely love them. Amazon leotards aren't too bad either. I can't tell you what I think of pointe shoes though. I don't have them yet. As in, I can't use them yet.

I actually bought a similar leotard from Wish for a performance. It cost 16 € and is red. I didn´t expect much but SURPRISE it´s so lovely! The clasp holds, the fabric feels great, it fits me! I even washed it a couple of times and it still looks like new :)
i wore angelo luzio flat shoes for 5 years. i thought they were so good. bought capezios this year and have never once missed my old luzios. they were so baggy, even if I got the right size. I like capezio sooooo much more
Hi Claudia, I super love your videos. I wanted to learn ballet until the pointe work but sadly, we didn't have the money so I only studied ballet for 2 years. But your videos make me happy though, hearing you talk about anything ballet related. Im a big fan. And you have a great sense of humor, you're just fun to watch and I admire your dancing and personality. 😊 You must be great at coaching aspiring dancers. If I could learn ballet in another life, I'd want to learn from you.
I took ballet for several years but could not start until I was 24 years old since there was not school where I grew up. I did dance on pointe after grueling exercises to stretch my feet. I had a patient teacher and was the only student. I danced free because I helped warm up childrens' classes for her.
i really actually enjoy the Wendy Wu brand pointe shoes on amazon, they’re about $40 and great quality, probably on par with the pink shoes you tried first!
I feel so old. When I was in my teens and early twenties, that's how much good quality ballet products cost - except pointe shoes. You couldn't get pointe shoes for $30.

In a few months, I'm going to start dancing on pointe and no shops are open. I just started watching this because and now I'm obsessed with your channel!
The Bezioner pointe shoes are horrible ... honestly, some time ago I was curious as well and ordered a pair of them, red ones too, and I can barely stand in them. I took a closer look at the inside construction of the shank at it was just differently coloured cardboard in layers. Also, the box widened after just a few minutes of doing releves in them. Most of that stuff comes from china and if it's not shipped from there directly, Amazon probably has the items for the real seller in their own stock and just does the shipping for them, that happens quite often. I only wonder about the price of the Bezioner shoes, got mine for just 10 Euro (I'm from Germany). The main problem I see with those cheap shoes is that people who just want to play ballerina for a photoshoot or have the mad idea to teach theirselves, without proper instructors at all, buy that stuff and risk injuries - it's not a great idea with a proper pointe shoe as well of course, but those are so much worse. I've read reviews on Amazon where grannies or mums got that shoes for their little children, who don't even dance or - they get the idea that "cheap shoes are just fine for a beginner - doesn't have to be something expensive at first" - I can just hope that in that case, their ballet teachers make them throw away those shoes and get them properly fitted. But anywys - I enjoyed your video :) - like so many others on your channel, you have great tips that I wish I knew already when I was younger. Been dancing for 14 years, and now after a 15 year break I decided to start again, I began to miss it too much ...
I can see using them for a photoshoot if you don't actually go en pointe. If you want to take cute themed pictures or decorate your room or studio buying cheap shoes makes sense. As far as price just because you get the most exspensive pair of shoes doesn't mean they are the best. When my child started learning pointe I made sure to get her properly professionally fitted by one of the people her teacher recommended. I was more concerned with proper fit and quality than price. That was the easy part, learning how to attach the ribbons was the most difficult part of the whole journey.
tbh I don't know why she said they were ok. They looked like they had no shank and looked like demis to me. You can't bend new pointe shoes at all the first time in proper brands.
The ones with the suede toes, I'm pretty sure sansha does those too, or used to. I remember a girl having them in class when I was 15. Which was over 15years ago.

Love all your videos. Thank you for evaluating the products. The info is very useful. Personally, I would be wary of buying unknown brands online. I would worry about injury from an inferior shoe.
Meanwhile I’ve gotten almost every Leo I have from amazon in my whole 12 ish years of ballet. And if you just get Bloch flats from amazon they’re perfectly normal.
The idea of buying dance shoes online where I can't try them on and hop around in them a bit stresses me out! When I was in ballet, the shops even had barres a lot of the time to try out different movements.
My daughter is 4 and just started ballet classes. She saw your videos (because overly prepared mama knows literally nothing about dance and binge watched 😅) Now all she wants is to be just like you! #dancegoals

Mytoenail Justfelloff she means the leather style. if you get the canvas style, it’s all canvas, but the leather one has a mesh neoprene in the middle.
Maybe that suede part on the flat shoe is (this is a wild guess) that since all of my friends and I always get holes in the big toe, maybe its an extra layer so the fabric stays together

Hi Claudia, I super love your videos. I wanted to learn ballet until the pointe work but sadly, we didn't have the money so I only studied ballet for 2 years. But your videos make me happy though, hearing you talk about anything ballet related. Im a big fan. And you have a great sense of humor, you're just fun to watch and I admire your dancing and personality. 😊 You must be great at coaching aspiring dancers. If I could learn ballet in another life, I'd want to learn from you.

I took ballet for several years but could not start until I was 24 years old since there was not school where I grew up. I did dance on pointe after grueling exercises to stretch my feet. I had a patient teacher and was the only student. I danced free because I helped warm up childrens' classes for her.

I feel so old. When I was in my teens and early twenties, that's how much good quality ballet products cost - except pointe shoes. You couldn't get pointe shoes for $30.

The Bezioner pointe shoes are horrible ... honestly, some time ago I was curious as well and ordered a pair of them, red ones too, and I can barely stand in them. I took a closer look at the inside construction of the shank at it was just differently coloured cardboard in layers. Also, the box widened after just a few minutes of doing releves in them.
Most of that stuff comes from china and if it's not shipped from there directly, Amazon probably has the items for the real seller in their own stock and just does the shipping for them, that happens quite often.
I only wonder about the price of the Bezioner shoes, got mine for just 10 Euro (I'm from Germany).
The main problem I see with those cheap shoes is that people who just want to play ballerina for a photoshoot or have the mad idea to teach theirselves, without proper instructors at all, buy that stuff and risk injuries - it's not a great idea with a proper pointe shoe as well of course, but those are so much worse.
I've read reviews on Amazon where grannies or mums got that shoes for their little children, who don't even dance or - they get the idea that "cheap shoes are just fine for a beginner - doesn't have to be something expensive at first" - I can just hope that in that case, their ballet teachers make them throw away those shoes and get them properly fitted.
But anywys - I enjoyed your video :) - like so many others on your channel, you have great tips that I wish I knew already when I was younger. Been dancing for 14 years, and now after a 15 year break I decided to start again, I began to miss it too much ...
I can see using them for a photoshoot if you don't actually go en pointe. If you want to take cute themed pictures or decorate your room or studio buying cheap shoes makes sense. As far as price just because you get the most exspensive pair of shoes doesn't mean they are the best. When my child started learning pointe I made sure to get her properly professionally fitted by one of the people her teacher recommended. I was more concerned with proper fit and quality than price. That was the easy part, learning how to attach the ribbons was the most difficult part of the whole journey.
tbh I don't know why she said they were ok. They looked like they had no shank and looked like demis to me. You can't bend new pointe shoes at all the first time in proper brands.
I think those purple shoes are actually costume shoes. They have the ribbon on them so they look like point shoes.
The ones with the suede toes, I'm pretty sure sansha does those too, or used to. I remember a girl having them in class when I was 15. Which was over 15years ago.

Love all your videos. Thank you for evaluating the products. The info is very useful. Personally, I would be wary of buying unknown brands online. I would worry about injury from an inferior shoe.
Meanwhile I’ve gotten almost every Leo I have from amazon in my whole 12 ish years of ballet. And if you just get Bloch flats from amazon they’re perfectly normal.
The idea of buying dance shoes online where I can't try them on and hop around in them a bit stresses me out! When I was in ballet, the shops even had barres a lot of the time to try out different movements.

I remember something called paws which just go on the balls of the feet to help with contemporary dance or turns while barefoot

What you mean are capezio hanamis, but they dont have a stretchy mesh in the middle, they are made out of a very stretchy canvas entirely.
Mytoenail Justfelloff she means the leather style. if you get the canvas style, it’s all canvas, but the leather one has a mesh neoprene in the middle.
Would you rather have to use amazon pointe shoes for all of your variations or use your personal favourite brand, but two sizes too small? 🤷♀️

The flats with the toe cap thing are flats for Chinese folk dance I think. I used to wear them in my Chinese folk dance class.
Maybe that suede part on the flat shoe is (this is a wild guess) that since all of my friends and I always get holes in the big toe, maybe its an extra layer so the fabric stays together
