I could listen to Margaret Atwood all day. (Always assuming she would talk to me in the first place). She is so interesting, always with a fresh perspective. What a brain.

Charlie Rose is so obviously intimidated by her, and tries to put her down and diminish her accomplishments repeatedly. Sick!

A little yeah, but he does that quite often, I've noticed. Or at least in the interviews I've watched by him, guests who come alone have to parry his underhanded comments and interruptions a lot. Oddly enough, the interviews as a whole tend to end up being quite interesting, perhaps because even though he is being annoying, he is poking at the stuff that allows the interviewees to shine. I think this to be the case with Margaret Atwood: the composure and answers she gives, holding her ground without losing her cool, gives me a profound feeling of respect for her.

Yes he does that, but, but as David says, really he does it with everyone.. Charlie Rose is a terrible interviewer.. he just doesn’t know or seems to be really curious about anything.. and because he does interview intelligent worthy people like Margaret Atwood, his insecurities come out in the form of interrupting and trying to hijack the conversation

at 1:51 interviewer condescendingly reaches to pat her on the arm-- she flicks his hand away with her elbow. YES!

@@pranavkumar1818 It isn't really creepy within Western culture as it is a common condescending gesture. I would say it was insulting rather than sexually harassing.

Ah yes, the classic interview technique of question about book, interruption, question about book, question about about John Wayne Bobbitt, fumbled pretence of having read the literature your interviewee is referencing, interruption, question about book, question about tangential connection to book, accidentally pluralising book title. What a guy!!!

I’ve never understood how the concept of a drunk man interviewing people of significantly greater intellect than himself ever became popular.

      Also what's your opinion of ZS4ZPF ?
ZS4ZPF is a theory in the chess community that the world chess champion Magnus Carlsen accused teenage Jewish American Hans Niemann of cheating BECAUSE Hans is Jewish or American. I say or because the theory is unsure which of the 2 ethnicities it is that Magnus has something against.
