    just one thing (apart from errors already mentioned), for 5/x, where x approaches zero, infinity is not the answer, because only the right hand limit is infinity, but the left hand limit is minus infinity, so the limit is not defined actually.

    i left high school in the middle of 9th grade geometry (very basic trig) and haven’t done math since and yet this all made sense. it’s like my brain just unlocked the place that was hiding this info for years. i’m going to college next year and have been worried about not understanding any of the math but i still somehow have it in there, just a little rusty for sure lol. for context i was 14 then and I’m 18 now so it’s been 4 years of no math

    I think of math as trying to learn a foreign language (1 is x, 2 is y, etc.). Then when you learn that foreign language, you try to write it down so others can understand it. That is where the confusion and miscommunication come in. If it was written in English instead of foreign graphs and symbols it would be easier to understand and communicate to others.

    • @1red2blue4
      @1red2blue4  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I could not possibly disagree more. The entire purpose of mathematics is to be objective, rather than subjective. There's nothing more objective than utilizing script that's universal to every language in existence. Plus, it's also just good UX Design to use, more or less, iconography.

    1:36 I know you said "simply means" but it is not true. In addition the graph on the right at 1:42 is continuous (unless there are values on the x axis but they are not visible). It is because when you look for continuity, you don't care about x values that are not part of the domain of the function. That is why a function with a domain of isolated points (like all the natural numbers) is a continuous function.

    So if i understand this correctly here are 4 branches of math in level of difficulty and or abstraction
    Arithmetic: basic math, using our biological imagination to visualize certain actions (in this case operators)
    Geometry: using concepts of arithmetic to understand and calculate multiple aspects of physical space (graphs, coordinates, area & volume, etc)
    Algebra: using concepts of arithmetic and geometry to understand and calculate ambiguous abstract symbols, typically English letters
    Calculus: using concepts from arithmetic, geometry & algebra to understand & calculate change (im 10th grade so I don’t completely understand this)
