I was in love with a girl named Julia. I played this song for her and she melted! She moved pretty far away and we lost touch. I think about her a lot, and this song gives me great memories 😎
@@soysaucehairdye7869 cheers never heard that I'll check. Among the contemporary French bands , I found a band that seemed to come straight from the touching pop days : Frank just Frank. I used to listen to an Australian shoegazer band called Lowtide who did a pretty good cover of this song. Now I just listen to this. Nothing's like the original. I've grown a deep love for Asylum Party's music and can't go a day without it now.

Asylum Party, Little Nemo, Mary Goes Round, Babel 17.... they are the coldwave/touching pop cake; a melancholic chill that couldn't be less touching than something warm and optimistic. This song in particular is about two characters from George Orwell's book 1984; Winston and Julia, unlikely lovers caught within a dreary panopticon of a futuristic post WWII Britain.
if you know how the things ended in the novel (1984), this song, more than a love song, turns into a kind of letter to the impossibility, and that's why it's so sad, but beautiful
I’ve always wondered if they’d ever reunite by some divine possibility. Looks like that’s not possible now that Thierry is gone. I love this band so much. RIP Thierry ❤️ 🌹
That is not Pascale Macé. Pascale Macé is a female keyboardist. This is Olivier Champeau, from the band, Little Nemo, on synth here. Pascale Macé joined Asylum Party on the album _'Borderline',_ that came after _'Picture One',_ which is their debut mini album that _'Julia'_ comes from...

Best band from France hands down, in my opinion they are up there with my heroes: Sad Lovers, Chameleons and The Sound.
I agree there. Alcest is a good current band from France, but Asylum Party really does have the greatness of the three bands you mentioned.

Hey, for everyone asking/surprised by the Yamaha logo, it's written in french that it was a musical springboard from Yamaha to win a Japan Tour.
Asylum party has got to be one of my favorite bands
