When I first saw 15 losses on Wikipedia I was sure it was a typo. It's unreal.
Now that's a game plan worthy of praise! Congratulations Namsaknoi, most opponents of Saenchai fail because they fall into his traps. You did not allow this, simply by taking away space for Saenchai to be effective. It's one thing to just take away space but you did it very effectively dominating him with knees and throws. I can't say I've witnessed Saenchai being frustrated like that in any of his fights.

Learning clinch from him was the most amazing thing I've ever done, most kind,humble and inteligent person I've ever met. Very rare for such a great fighter to be such a great trainer/coach as well.

Namsaknoi beat the best of clinchers like Lamnamoon, so Saenchai had no chance in the clinch. He also couldn’t throw Namsaknoi. It is truly the way to beat Saenchai. Saenchai seems to be weak at clinching.
I wouldn't say weak, but he definitely struggles against very high level muay khao fighters like orono, petchboonchu and namsaknoi here. That's how you shut down a very feighnty/evasive fighter, if you cant hit them when standing toe to toe, grab them and work from there

Sagetdao , Petchboonchu , Singdam , Yodwicha , Nongbee , Kem , Orono , Namsaknoi , Penek , Petmorakot were all considered the best clinch fighter of the modern era and yet they all did beat Saenchai ... Albeit with weight/reach/heights adventages but still .
Only a few all time great kickers like Sam-A , Singdam , Nong-O , Pakorn could compete with Saenchai on the outside game .

More like saenchai has 1 strategy and never changes it. His clinch is good, but if his opponent is better, he doesnt change his gameplan. Watch his fights with petch. Petch figured him out but saenchai kept doing the same thing even while getting mauled.

But yeah, nobody of his era could outstrike saenchai… you had to mix it up and use Muay Khao as your main weapon.

Saenchai's fights are typically a beautiful, technical art.... so Nam turned it into a dirty, grinding clinch game....going against Saenchai...you do what you gotta do to win.

An interview with him years ago told he didn't get a dime from PorPramuk Gym when he retired, not even his championship belts. He then went back to his native place and lived on meagre earnings...

Being a Goju Ryu karate man myself, I'm not sure how these fights are scored. But it seems that the taller fighter won because after being outpointed with cleaner and quicker strikes in the first rounds, he effectively shut down his opponent's strategy by making the fight ugly, clinching and getting the advantage in terms of takedowns and knees. Not nice to look at, but he smartly took away from his opponent what he's best at doing.
Muay Thai is a unique martial art. It turned out that a taller fighter benefits from a clinch. While in boxing or karate it would be more profitable to keep your distance

No. Eyes for boxing, not for muay thai
In Muay Thai look at the chest, you can read their shoulder movements for incoming punches, and hips / knee movements for incoming kicks / knees.
Chest is the middle ground for peripherals.
The eyes are for boxers only because boxers don’t kick so you simply focus on shoulders an reading the eyes.
Why did namsaknoi spit his mouthguard in the middle of the fight?
Usually muay Thai fighters do that in order to apologize the opponent after they accidentally do something against the rules.

Sanchai was at a disadvantage bodily this fight. It was not his usual weight. This fight he fought at the weight of 133 while his normal weight was only around 126-130. It was because Sanchai had run out of his opponents in his normal weight so he had to fight guys who were bodily bigger than him.

He also won by hitting Saenchai with knees on the way in, which score high in Muay Thai too.

Saenchai had been fighting for over a decade by this point. Muay Thai fighters usually start as children. Not to mention very few of the people Saenchai fought are at Namsaknoi's skill level (which isn't a knock on Saenchai, you don't go over 100 fights with only one loss without being a beast.
Younger Dieselnoi and Samart would beat Seanchai.
Namsaknoi (saenchai opponent here) is not a your typical fighter..he is one of muay thai Goat..he has the highest winning rate in muay thai history ( 95% of 300 fight)..hence, nicknamed The Emperor..
