    'The Witches' Coven' is possibly the most unnerving soundtrack experience of my entire life. Bravo! Speechless...

    Mark Korven is a fucking genius. I have so much admiration and respect for him. Brilliant.

    The Musical score stands apart , a rare pervasive energy encompasses the entire score. Your work was perfectly executed . A beautiful vision the music speaks directly to those who are open enough to listen to her. The best soundtrack I have ever heard related to New England Witch Craft.

    I find the score (and the movie for that sake) absolutely astounding...spinning the LP right now.

    I haven´t seen the movie yet (but I will as soon as I get the chance), but I have listened to a couple of the music tracks because I am a Soundtrack Reviewer for a Blog. The music is scary as hell, I was really impressed by it and I am thinking about writing an article based on it. Great video, by the way. And amazing work with the score.

    The best sound design and sound track I've seen in a film in a long time. the decision not to use a known composition "lachrimae" is so artistically sound, reflecting how you want to soundscape a space that feels at the edge of the world.
    Wonder if any gamers know if the Nyckelharpa was also used in "the witcher: wild hunt" soundtrack too? particularly the scenes with the crones, the Ladies of the Wood?

    I absolutely loved this film and your fantastic score! I've seen it 5 times. Thank you for your hard work. "A Witch Stole Sam" and "Witches' Coven" are my most favorite scenes and tracks and the score was great in creating that powerful feel of black magic and mysticism. I was wondering if you could share with us the words the coven was chanting in their incantation and what the English translation of it is. Thanks!

    • @indiefilmandmusic
      @indiefilmandmusic  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Kyle Stratton Wow. 5 times really? Glad that you liked the score. The lyrics were a mixture of satanic writings, with a lot of random words we threw in. So we didn't turn ourselves into newts or something. I mean, you never know!

    • @8rr725

      @@indiefilmandmusic I don't know if you'll see this, but I was wondering what language the satanic words were from?

    • @indiefilmandmusic
      @indiefilmandmusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@8rr725 Don't know. I just knew they were basically taken from actual Satanic verses, although random words were changed so that no one was turned into a newt.

      I can see why you guys decided not to use Lachrimae but it was well done. Incredible job on the soundtrack. I hope you and Eggers team up in the future, and if you don't. I hope to hear your work in more films period. You have a great talent, look forward to seeing your career develop. Good luck!

    Now this is the kind of content I've been searching for!
    What was the instrument used for 'a witch stole sam'? also where could I find Mark's rendition of 'lachrimae'?

    • @indiefilmandmusic
      @indiefilmandmusic  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Victor V Hi Victor. The instrument was mostly the nyckelharpa. There was also a primitive Finnish instrument called the Jouhikko as well. You can find my version of Lachrimae here: bloody-disgusting.com/interviews/3381360/we-interviewed-composer-mark-korven-about-his-terrifying-score-for-the-witch/

    • @indiefilmandmusic

      Hi! That would be cello and Swedish Nyckelharpa. The percussion was cello.
