Great video Gary. I don't know which is worse, the Lionel or Marx eunit to repair. I can bang my head sometimes working on Lionel's. All of the Marx non functioning e-units I have were due to a bad coil. In that case, bypass. Great to have you back. Good luck with the homestead.
Gary, glad that you have to do some work on some engines that you purchased. Thanks to you and your videos,I know now how to work on a Marx motor. Really appreciate you and your videos. “Thank You “ May God’s blessing be on you and your family.
Hi! Which controller do you use to reverse the train? My Marx controller does not have the function.... My trains goes forward and backwards when they wants..kkk I could not find any info about...Thankss
Gary, Could you please help me. I have several prewar locos with damaged pick up shoes. Can they be repaired if the brass spring strip is broken. Can I replace them with a post war pick up shoe assembly? Thank you Ray
I have a question if you don't mind. I have a 999 that I want to put a double reduction gear motor in. Will the ones that came in the 400 & 490 work as long as I change the front thingy that the 999 drive rods slide on and change the drive rods on the wheels?

Do you know how to test the solenoid on the e unit to see if it's working? I have one that will only cycle if I knock the crap out of it.
How do I tell which is the ground on the e unit. 🤔 Is the ground on the lower half n the positive on the top?
I’m referring to the small wire connected directly to the e-unit housing, I’ll address it in the next video, thanks for watching

Yes will work just fine
I wouldn't let him work on my train.
You said make sure the E-unit ground wire is grounded? How am I to know which is the ground wire on the E unit!? 🤔🫣
