This song still sounds utterly amazing after all these years, especially the piano and bass (I do miss the synth/piano call-and-response towards the end); THANK YOU for posting this!
RIP Dee Murray ✝️✝️✝️. There was no Elton John music without your bass and your singing. You and Nigel Olsson were the heart and soul of the Elton John Band. The hits stopped when he sacked you both (what a fool), resumed when you came back and stopped again after he sacked you both a second time (🤯😱😡). You are still missed.
This finally answers my question about the solo definitively. This solo drove me crazy as I tried to play what I was hearing on the record, because the left and right hands were completely doing different things, and if you look for live performances of him on just piano he just overdrives his right hand and uses the left for bass, really - he doesn't do it like the record either, and that's why - the rhythm piano was an overdub. I've been able to do both now, using a stride-piano type of technique that gets closer to the record than I've ever heard. I wonder what EJ would think...
…interesting…so, you’re positing that he overdubbed two piano parts on top of each other for the solo? Because the left hand just is too busy to do with the left hand alone? …thanks in advance for your anticipated response! 😊
@@Jerry-oo8hd Yep! If you listen to this track, you can hear he's playing both right and left hand, without the solo. The right hand solo was overdubbed later.
@@BillVincent …after listening to it, yeah. Easy to see. I had always thought his hands were damn busy, but didn’t consider an overdub. I could have. Haha. Thanks for the reply. I always loved the slow speed and the quarter-note banging on that G Major 7th
4:22 through 4:43 will always be one of the most underrated parts of this song but it's definitely one of my favorite moments and wish he brought it back in his Farewell Yellow Brick Tour concerts bc he stopped playing this outro in the 80s and onward and it's such a shame bc I always thought him going crazy with the syncopated chords sounded better than his bluesy solos that he does on the outros since he stopped playing it this way

This would have been leaked by someone who had access to the multitrack recordings. No stem separation algorithm can produce something as clean as this.
The vocals and the handclaps are gone, so you can hear the piano clearly enough to work out Elton is doing. I personally find the bass and drums really helpful for learning the groove of the piano part. Just in case you ever doubt that the piano is essentially a percussion instrument, here is the proof so that you will never forget.
It essentially is almost, as most the beat is there. But not fully. Its just the multitracks from the drum, bass and guitar. But this probably the closest we'll get to the full instrumental. :D
The bass on this is impeccable!!
absolutely! i’m currently trying to learn it, and this upload’s very helpful :)
so funky!
The applause at the beginning is audio from a Jimi Hendrix's live album Blue Wild Angel live at the Isle Of Wight 1970.
never knew this!
Good knowledge. PB
i guess it's kind of randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to stream new tv shows online?
@Malachi Nikolai I would suggest Flixzone. You can find it on google :)
@Malachi Nikolai lately I have been using flixzone. Just search on google for it :)

Awesome!! I hope to one day achieve that level. If only you could teach me that technique. But perhaps it’s more special if you come by it yourself.
That’s amazing! I’m working on his “in the mood” piano solo.

thank you so much for this, all of the other ones just sound wrong
One of the “instrumentals” was just the piano and it’s just not the same without the drums and the piano.

Sounds good without the studio effects.
The jam out is funky brilliant ❤

Ah...could be

@@IAmRobertPersson A.I. source separation can, but this was obviously from the surround sound mix.
@@theonlydjtopcatit can but you’d be able to hear some stuff the ai would leave behind. This sounds crystal clear. Most certainly from the multitracks
Can I use this for a vocal cover on my fb?
he doesnt own it so you can do what oyu want
Y in mono?
I ave it in "stereo"
If only it had the lyrics too
Porque no sono el solo de piano
Lo doblaron en otra toma
