Hey guys! It has come to my attention that this video particularly sparked the question of range safety, as shown in the video around 15:35. Firstly, I wish to address that it is permitted by club rule. But I understand that it may raise a red flag elsewhere. I think that population and demographic plays a role in making the rules, I’m not in the position to say what’s right or wrong, what I can do is only to show what it’s like for me. However safety concerns is being reflected on by me, and I’ll endeavor to make it more viewer friendly. Secondly, my channel is about personal progression and experience, so with respect to your free will on how you wish to interact with my contents, I wish you to not give up on me just based on this. Thank you so much 😇
Definitely take range discipline way more seriously at my club. We treat archery almost like firearms that way. Perhaps because the range we're using is in fact part of the rod&gun club shooting range. And we often have a dozen people or more, including children with parents in a much smaller space.
I sensing that different places have different rules, in my range, we are allowed to shoot and collect independently if the archers are setup certain lanes apart from each other, the only problem is if someone wonder into other lanes looking for loose arrow, in that case the archers who are too close should stop shooting and help. Thank you for your feedback on range safety 🎯
Not trying to be a downer here, but I have been involved in archery for over 30 years and have never seen someone shoot when people are on the range. That was a big no no at my former archery club. Personally, I would not advise doing that even if it is allowed and I would not go retrieve arrows if anyone was on the line shooting or preparing to shoot. I get that recurve is a lot less dangerous than compound....but still. Not a good habit to get in too....just saying. If not for that....I probably would have subscribed since I DO like to see young folks getting into archery.
@@Alan_Edwards thank you for your feedback, it’s a comment I get very often, it’s permitted in my range. I had written about it in my community page. But I appreciate you for telling me 🫶
@@BeginnerArcherRita Interesting. I am curious if your range allows compounds or if it's all recurve shooters? If it's all recurve it's far less dangerous, but if there are compound shooters I would be very careful. Unlike recurve shooters compounds shooters have far less control as most are using release aids and they can and do misfire either from bad habits or malfunctions. Be careful out there !!
@@Alan_Edwards thank you 😊 we do have a minority of compound shooters with I think an upper limit of draw weight to 55lbs, still plenty enough to kill someone, especially without armor or anything. But they usually only come during night time, as can be seen in one of my videos. I know those guys and they are careful what they are doing, but we do tend to give them plenty of space for those reasons you mentioned 🙏
@@thedavid73 The back quiver is for another bow, I didn’t shoot it in that video but it also held my clothes in place as I didn’t have a chest guard at the time.
