I have a B6100D from new in 1980. About 1450 hours. Plowed heavy snow, bush hogged large roigh fields and did a variety of work and never the machine never missed a beat. You do not shift while moving. Select the gear range you want for work or speed and operate in that range. Stop before your shift up or down. You can use the compression release to spin the motor up to speed b4 trying to start.
Just loved your video Mike. I’m in Australia 2 hours west of Sydney and just bought a 1985 model Kubota B6100 4x4 diesel. Looks exactly the same. Thanks for the demo, do you adjust the compression on startup as this one has a lever to pull out to take off the compression to let her rev up? Cheers, John

Yup. I still have my Kubota B6100 and it starts up no problem. Never had an engine failure once
Ahhh the kubota 3 cylinders. I remember from a 1984 kubota riding mower my grandfather and father had. Really good equipment

I dont mess with the compression while starting.. I just let the glow plugs get hot then crank her up!
