If you're dating/ in a relationship with someone, but you find out they were already in another relationship, you're the side thing and you end things with the cheater, you're not the asshole. But IF YOU KNOW they're in a relationship and still pursue them despite knowing, you're an accomplice and an asshole. If the person in the relationship doesn't want to be with their significant other anymore, they should end the relationship instead of cheating. Btw, if you enable cheating behavior, you're an asshole too.

If they say they are single, I follow with is there a woman who believes she is in a relationship with you.
