Jay (female) & Joe (male): Age is unknown.
They've been visiting my house for 4 years (since 2020).
앨리 (암컷, 나이: 6달) 부모: 아람이와 테리.
아람의 이니셜 'A' 따서 앨리라고 이름 지음
Ally (Female, 6 months) Parents: Aram & Terry.
I made the name Ally from the first letter of Aram's name.
바비 (암컷, 나이: 3달) 바니 새끼, 엄마 이름을 따서 '바비'라고 부름
Bobby (Female, 3 months) Bunny's baby
I named her Bobby, after her mother Bunny.

경고 알람줬던 제이와 죠가 기특하기도 하고 다친여우가 안타깝다기도 하고 그런 미묘한 감정이 였습니다.

참 어렵습니다.. 인간의 기준에선 새도 다람쥐도 여우도 모두 작은 동물들이라서 그들의 아픔에 더 마음이 쓰이고 안타까운 감정도 생기는데, 생태계에선 그 작은 동물들 안에 포식자와 피식자 관계가 나뉘잖아요 만약 여우를 도와준다면 내 작은 선의에 의도치않게 다람쥐 친구들이 다치거나 심지어 생명이 위태로울 수도 있다보니 그것 또한 마음이 참.. 안좋네요ㅜㅜ 절뚝이는 다리를 보니 약간 삐끗한 정도가 아닌 것 같은데... 바라만 볼 수밖에 없던 츄츄님 마음도 많이 속상하셨겠어요ㅜㅜㅠ

어머 여우! 한국에서 멸종해서 복원중인데.. 캐나다에는 개체수가 꽤 있나봐요. 건강한 생태계 부럽습니다. 우리 다람쥐 친구들에게는 큰 피해 없었으면 해요.

발 디딜 곳이 확보되어야
먹이를 안전하게 먹을 수 있는 거 같아요
그래서 손가락으로 땅콩을 들고 있으면
먹고 싶어도 먹을 수 없는 거 같아요^^♡
와~~ 여우 정말 뒷태만 잠시였지만....진~짜 예쁘네요
유투브에서 여우 키우는 것을 봤을 때랑 또 다른 조화미가 넘치네요

블루제이 울음소리가 정말 특이하네요ㅋㅋ근데 다람쥐 바로 근처까지 오는거보니 사이가 나쁘지 않은가봐요ㅎㅎ

Yes, I think so too, the fox came for help, the way she kept looking at ChooChoo and not running away showed this.

If Choo Choo could put ointment on the fox's injured leg and bandage it up, maybe the fox's family could come over and become a big animal family :) I think that would make Blue Jay and the squirrels very stressed.

Hope the fox heals quickly. I know they're predators, but, honestly, I like them too. Had a family living in the woods behind my back yard for several years. -- Joe likes those meal worms; makes me remember Chucky!! I wonder if Jay ever complains of stinky "worm-breath"?

@@qweqwe-12 네... 사람에게는 순할수도 있죠.... 그러나 여우는 하루에 대략 1Kg의 육식을 한다고 합니다....설치류가 그들의 밥 입니다.....ㅜㅜ

Yes, the fox helps balance the population, sad as it is, without the fox ChooChoo would be overrun with hundreds of little chipmunks, and they would not be as healthy as they are.

This episode was very interesting!
It's sad to see the fox limping but we hope it doesn't come back (for the sake of your chipmunk and bird community). It was funny watching Jay voice her frustrations when you were holding out the peanut. Joe has developed a liking for mealworms now, huh?
I worried about the fox too but same time worried about our little friends.
The Fox was very beautiful… but I would worry about the other wildlife in the area especially the chipmunks…

Poor fox needs some TLC too.
Yes. It seemed to me that he knew that ChooChoo cares deeply for the chippies, birds, deer, etc and hoped for some help. Live-trapping him/her and taking him to a wildlife vet might be difficult though and I sure don't want ChooChoo or Tom to get bitten! Raccoons are easy. I'm not sure about trapping foxes though.
But if it sticks around, it will be snacking on the chipmunks.
@davidt3956 - The fox has an important job of keeping the chipmunk population healthy and not overbreeding, Mother Nature needs balance, and everyone does their part.

Meanwhile, that doesn't obviate the fact that if she wants the chipmunks around her house to not be eaten, the fox shouldn't be accepted the way the chipmunks and birds are. The fox has other hunting grounds.
@davidt3956 It's the circle of life. If you don't want predators visiting your yard, don't invite their prey in. One of the coolest things I've witnessed at my bird feeders, was a peregrine falcon grabbing and eating a starling. It just stayed there on the ground eating it. I got to witness it from only 8 or 9 meters away. Foxes and any other natural predator are just as welcome in my yard, as any songbirds.

Long ago, I fed a family of bluejays for about 2 years. The closest I got to them was about 4-6 feet. I had to leave the peanuts on the railing and back up. I thought for sure you were going to show them eating out of your hand. I tend to think that if you can't get them to do it, no one can. TBC. 😊
There is a wonderful TH-cam channel where the young lady has several families of blue jays (as well as other birds) that eat out of her hands. She has put her channel on pause, but it's well worth watching her old videos, they are lovely.

I dont think I ever heard that particular call. Interesting. There he is. Oh yes he hurt his backleg. I dont imagine that the life of a fox is easy. The life of a pretty blue jay with friends like you is pretty good.

I don't want the chipmunks get eaten but I also feel bad for the fox. It probably had a hard time hunting for food in winter (since this was recorded in Fall 2023). Especially if it's female and have babies.
