I think your first crash might have been Atlanta - NYC, the second definitely was Tampa - Charlotte. The prices increase every quarter because of inflation. I am looking forward to getting to play this myself!

Those little planes are fine for the small cities, but should probably get better planes for those larger cities/longer routes

Your planes were crashing as you had more planes than your maintenance hangers, also many stressed routes not achieving their delivery ratss

Stop pausing fast-forward the game you can make more money, connect more routes and expand the northern hemisphere
