So happy to welcome you to the land of Dimash Qudaibergen. I am a 70 year old Dear in Nebraska USA. I first heard Dimash singing SOS from his Digital show 2021. I bawled my eyes out as I read the captioning of the lyrics in English. I immediately became a fan and now listen almost exclusively to this brilliant young man. He is 27, will be 28 on his birthday in May. He is 6 ft. 3 and 1/2 inches tall and is also known for his dropping to his knees toward the conclusion of many of his songs. My 22 year old grandson died in a terrible car accident Dec. 28th, 2021, which also was my 70th birthday. He had spent Christmas with me and was headed back to the Naval Base he was stationed at. I spoke to him 1 hour before his death telling him to be careful on the long drive. He had just gotten his driver's license 1 week before. I could not accept nor deal with this, as I had also lost my husband to cardiac arrest and Chance, my grandson had been such a huge part of my life, living with me after my husband's death until he enlisted in the Navy, so he had lived with me for 3 years. Then I was going through the many Dimash links, reaction videos etc. and came across a fanvid, made to his song The Meaning of Eternity. I had seen the original video but she had created an amazing video that also included an English translation to the lyrics, accompanied by breathtaking imagery. Her video, the images that accompanied it, Dimash's beautiful voice opened the floodgates and I just broke down and started crying. So please forgive this lengthy response to your reaction but if you have the opportunity and care to do it, I would suggest reacting to, or just listening to and watching the fanvid made to Dimash's The Meaning Of Eternity. The man standing in the front in the end in the white shirt is Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer and music titan in Russia. He came out of retirement to write music for Dimash. You will see him accompanying Dimash on the piano when he sings the songs composed by him.

You said you didn’t know you could be surprised by. Dimash again. Then you’ve got a real problem if you don’t know you can be surprised again. Even the songs he repeats you’ll be surprised. They are never repeated. That means he sings by ear not just by note and it also means he doesn’t lip sync. Dimash was a child prodigy that he carried through his whole life and continues up to even now 2022. And he possibly has a photographic memory because he is constantly putting out new material. There are more than 120 live videos on his channel not including soundtracks, music videos, video for games, and not for the music he did with an anime female character. This adult prodigy that he’s grown into is not going to stop. And it is not just musical.

Thank you for your reaction! Dimash’s talent is mind blowing 🤯 A'Studio was invited by Igor Krutoy to participate (individual concert) in the 2018 edition of the New Wave festival. Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏

Yes Dimash did do that in one breath you need to go forward and watch other things such as "Stranger ". I won't spoil it for you but just watch it you'll see what I'm talkin about. Just watch everything he has done he is a very exceptional artist

Yeah, the signs say Dimash in russian. And that low, graspy sound is called vocal fry ☺️☺️ And btw, the russian audience is not used to give a standing ovations very often... Instead they are used to give flowers to the artists 🙂

Great job Eddie. DImash has millions of fans he calls Dears. He sings in many languages. When his fans find you you will get thousands of views. Dimash has a master degree in music and plays several instruments. He sold out a concert in New York at the Barkley center one reaction channel is reviewing the concert broke into 2 songs at a time he does many songs in English and enter act with the crowd in perfect English. Keep up the good work.

You're right. His fans were holding up Russian signs which said Dimash. Also, it's not the culture over there to give standing ovations. Instead, they express their appreciation by giving flowers instead.
Sinful Passion was originally written and performed in 1998 by a Russian-based Kazakh band called A-Studio. They accompanied Dimash for this performance and at the end of the video, he humbly thanked them.
The gentleman in white who gave him a standing ovation is Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer, who's written several amazing songs for Dimash.
The interesting vocal style Dimash used towards the end of the song is called a vocal trill which is a classical technique and is the least familiar of the vocal manoeuvers. A singer with an even, rapid trill is a rarity. The director of the Rossini Opera Festival, Alberto Zedda has opined in an interview that the "widespread technical deficiency", the inability to trill, is a source of "frustration and anguish".
Dimash modified the traditional vocal trill by adding a Yakuti yodel technique as well as an Arabic maqam which is a system of oriental scales, melodic phrases and ornamentation techniques. He did it all to perfection. It’s wonderful that he’s introduced these classical and oriental techniques into a pop song for the benefit of the non-classical world.

Dimash is 27 years old, classically trained from age 5- has perfect pitch - has a 7 plus octave range - turned down an offer with an opera company but many songs contain opera influence - has his degree in opera, his masters in composition and his doctorate in Musicology - sings in 14 languages, is a multi-instrumentalist - singer, composer, director, producer, arranger, dancer, model, and as remarkable an individual as he is a musician - he has a concert tomorrow evening in Dubai - Igor Krutoy - stood in the audience, came out of retirement to write for and work with Dimash - he's a pianist/composer/conductor extraordinare - if you let the videos run the full length, you'll often learn much ~

Dear friend! Thanks for the interesting reaction. I am sending you information about the song "Sinful Passion". I think you'll be interested. //////// This song is old. She's over 20 years old. Music by Baigali Serkebayev, and the words to this song were written by the famous contemporary Russian poet Ilya Resnick, author of many Russian music hits The first performer of this song was a singer from Kazakhstan Batyrkhan Shukenov (he died in 2015). He didn't imitate the first performer. Dimash used all his phenomenal abilities and made a completely different interpretation of this song. I can't remember a single song where the singer changed 5 voices (from baritone to soprano) and 4 octaves in one song. And Dimash did it easily. At the end of the song, Dimash sang vocals for 22 seconds in one breath. Dimash tells a great story and draws us into it. Many viewers cry, others have chills. And all together they sit like under hypnosis.

Dimash is Muslim and learned these Oriental/Middle Eastern sounds growing up.
They are a very unique Muslim sect I have seen, Very loving, they do not believe in saying unkind things about others but always pronouncing a blessing on others they come in contact with. I have even heard Dimash quote New Testament Scripture, though he believes it to be an old Kazak saying.
He is very honoring and kind, loves children and adores his family and family friends.
Most Kazakh's are Eurasian and many are very tall from their European roots.
Dimash is 6'3" and a pit over, You can see video of him walking through airports in China and he is over a head taller than
those around him.
He used to stop in airports, pic up children and cuddle and give them kisses on the cheek or forehead, but the crowds are so massive now, he rarely does that these days.

I wanted to emphasize a point on the occasion:
Many try to internalize and emphasize Dimash's control of breathing and holding musical notes for many seconds..many even measure the spectacular seconds especially at the end of the songs and there are quite a few..17..23 .. etc
(Everyone knows which songs it is ..)
I think that because of the mesmerizing dynamics during the song, you do not always pay attention to holding the breath in the middle of the song, although not 19 seconds, but still 8 or 11 seconds! Then Dimash continues the song as if 11 seconds does not matter.
And now, multiply that insight by a 3-hour concert.
Dimash is often seen at the end of a song trying to regulate his breathing.

If you review the Opera 2 by dash choose the version with English subtitles and the one where his Father is in the audience. Dimash doesn't know he is there. This is the contest that made him a huge star on China. This shows has over 120 ooo ooo million viewers per episode.

In case no one said before, the group on stage, Studio A, also Kazakh based in Russia, are the original composers of this song, about 30 years ago. Their former lead singer died, and Dimash is now their lead, and the ‘warble’ was a tribute to that former band member!

Dimash was brought up on Kazakh music in which that oriental technique you heard is common (particularly in funeral music). In addition to that there is a classical singing (operatic) technique called Trinado de Caccini (Caccini's trill) that is identical to this - so he could have learnt it as a child, or later during classical training (or both).
