I loved playing with Tonka trucks when I was a little girl. Both my brother and I had hot wheels, tool boxes and more. I, also, loved My Little Ponies and dolls. Creative play shouldn't be limited, toys are toys.
My parents understood that even in the late fifties, early sixties. Me and my brothers played with whatever we liked. Ok, I got the dolls, my oldest brother got the meccano and the train and my youngest brother got the Fisher technique, but I also got cars and houses for the train, plastic animals etc. We all played with lego (which wasn't gendered back then), plastic animals, marbles etc. And my younger brother joined in on playing with dolls and stuffed animals. None of us was a tomboy or a tomasinagirl.
The creature that wrote this list deserves an award for being absolutely the most narcissistic, entitled being on this planet! Birdie Rose, you deserve an award for making the reading of said list incredibly entertaining! 🏆Can’t wait for the next instalment 😂
I'm on the spectrum and I just thought a bit about how it would absolutely, 100% not fly demanding if we demanded the same accommodation as these little snowflakes. Imagine a grocery store being forced to have dim lights, only let in a few people at the time, have an carbon filter over the fresh fish and cheese counters for any smells, noise cancelling headphones you check out at the same time as your cart, carts that are completely squeak-free, never being allowed to chance the layout of the store, never being able to change supply because some on the spectrum cant handle change. It would be pure madness. I myself is sensitive to scents so I just make a wide berth around the fish counter, scented candle shelf and any weirdo that applies perfume/cologne with a paint roller, its not _that_ hard
This is a really good point - these sorts of extravagant demands are not made by any other group of people who actually do have legitimate conditions that might require more acquiescence from society, however society cannot function by acquiescing to each individual or each group in such a specific way.
You make a good point. And I have to say that I would much rather make concessions like the ones you mention than have to use pronouns and lie. At least then I might feel like they were helping some people rather than hurting everyone.
11:53 Exactly. I refuse to buy into any kind of struggle session when I pay money for any form of artistic endeavour, really. It's incredibly off-putting. I don't actually want to be forced to think about heavy political topics on a night out, now more than ever.
American here, they are the safest demographic here as well. Even adjusting for population size (bc that’s always their core arg) “trans” people are killed at a rate of less than 3/100k, they are safer than the general population. & MUCH safer than women who are killed at a rate in excess of 12.2/100k. Female prostitutes are killed at a rate in excess of 200/100k, trans identified male prostitutes are among the less than 3 per 100k & are evidently capable of defending themselves better than female prostitutes. & it is important to point out the ridiculously small list of trans killings includes suicides, car accident, domestic violence, all as being hate crimes. Despite none being prosecuted as hate crimes. Almost like it’s all just propaganda 🙃
I love this woman. ❤ What I would support snd pay good money for is Birdy to come up to Scotland and address our Parliament and maybe a special meeting with the Greens to put them right...
I do have a lovely piece of art on my wall made by an artist (who, I found out later, identifies as nonbinary)- it’s on my wall because it’s nice portrait, not because of the artist’s gender identity.
Oh, the thing about menstrual products! Saw one of them complaining about them all coming in pink girly packaging. 🙄 Which is utter nonsense, there's a vast array of colours on the shelf. Bodyform is mostly pink, but other brands I've bought are white, grey, or blue with different coloured panels depending on how absorbent they are!
@@thefamousartistbirdyrose Neither do I! Mostly choose sanitary towels based on how cheap they are, although will stretch to the biodegradable ones if I can afford it.
Well, that says everything you need to know. They aren't women and don't appear to have had much experience with them either. Men who have relationships with women have probably seen the packaging for themselves.
@@douglasfreeman3229 It was a woman who was claiming to be a man that was whinging! You'd think she'd know better! A couple of years ago another woman claiming to be a man whinged to Always because the packaging had the Venus symbol on it (♀️) so they said they'd take it off. Meanwhile countless women have complained that Always scented sanitary towels have given them thrush (and aren't very well labeled, so women buy them by mistake) and do you think anything has been changed? I've been waiting for this. Nice one, Birdy. "Lucifer is here" reminds me that French people say, "Les Anglais sont arrivés" (The English have arrived) as a euphemism for the same thing. They don't put cartoon stickers on their tampon boxes, though. Or at least I don't think they do. Maybe they should? Asterix and Obelix?
Completely agree with you re: toys! Just buy kids what they like, (as long as it's age appropriate), without making them pawns in a political agenda! Be it "trans", more traditional conservatism, or feminism! Although if I had a girl who LOVED pink, glittery Barbie dolls, I would buy her that to make her happy, yes. But may just ALSO include some more diverse toys, to stimulate other parts of her character. Although DENYING kids what they want, because it's not politically correct..? Is just cruel. Also..? I was a young girl wanting lots of glittery, pink stuff, not because of sex role stereotypes, (I had basically zero awareness of those, at the time), but just because I found it PRETTY!! And pretty things make me happy. Still did back then, as well. Which.. girls having more of an appreciation for beauty is perhaps a stereotype. But for many of us, it just so happens to be true. And I think for me, that was always an inherent quality. Not something that was socialized into me. And.. you can be a strong, bad@ss female who also likes beauty, and pretty things. Plus you can be a man who likes it, too. And it is, for instance, possible to wear clothes that are both comfortable and functional, AND colorful and visually interesting!! I think we need more of that, for both sexes. (I still hate clothes that impede women's movement, and strongly objectify us, etc.) LOL, also, your adds for your store are just f*cking AMAZING!! Definitely some of the BEST ads I've ever seen, hands-down!! Makes ya want to show support, so as to not get unfairly accused of being an evil, wretched bigotphobe, y'know..? Plus also, why support "trans" artists, when one can instead support regularly cancelled TERF artists? :P This whole list just makes me go: "well, WTF is in it for me? Or for ANYONE? No matter how much you give these people, it is NEVER enough! And they'll keep shouting at you, for even the most MINOR of slip-ups!!" ..Which was legit one of the most liberating realizations I've ever had, during that early post peaking period, when I was still feeling HELLA super guilty for no longer agreeing with this agenda. Like: "no matter how 'nice' you are about it, you can no longer do full, unquestioning capitulation / compliance! Plus you know what reality is now, and you don't want to lie about it! Which.. that makes you inevitably an AWFUL person, no matter WHAT, in these people's eyes! So.. might as well just take it all the way, and be EXACTLY as 'awful' as you bloody like, then!! :D" ..And I have since proceeded to losing ALL my f*cks, over the following years.. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, ridiculous trans activists!!!
I make a point of buying stuff from the TERFs they try to cancel, like JK Rowling. Harry Potter merch and the latest Strike novel are things I've bought recently. Need to buy some Birdy Rose stuff, I want to go stickering!
I'll rock up to a trans person's exhibition and buy their book if it's on a subject I'm interested in, sure. But if it's about just them being trans..well that doesn't interest me. Are they seriously claiming we should financially support them simply for being trans people..?
Changing your surname after marriage is really easy, you literally just start using your husband's or wife's surname as your own. The legal process of marriage is the same regardless of whether you keep your original surname, or your husband/wife changes their surname, or you double barrel both of your surnames. Also sat here thinking how 'heteronomative' and traditional this woman's thinking is. Gay marriage exists, and there are some men who change their surnames to their wives' as well. I changed mine after I married my ex husband, because he pestered me until I gave in. (Something about the kids automatically getting his surname, so mine needed to be the same but we never had kids, so that point was moot. And why people think that kids automatically get their dad's surname anyway? In some countries they get their mum's surname.) Then my ex boyfriend's mum kicked off because I still had my ex husband's surname. At this point, it's my surname, I still refer to myself as Mrs, and I'm not going through the rigmarole of getting my passport, bank account, and all the rest of it changed. Also if I wanted to change my surname back I'd have to do it by deed poll, which I can't be arsed with. Oh, and I'm still technically married, despite being separated from my ex husband for longer than we were married. She wasn't offering to pay for my divorce and a deed poll! They're expensive. 😭 Don't worry Birdy. I'm a huge Evanescence fan, and sometimes Amy Lee talks what I think is utter nonsense about her music. I write stories, and do some pretty basic painting and drawing, but I think if I ever start sounding wanky I want to be taken out and shot. 🤣
I love your channel but the comment about children's toys being gendered only for money is inaccurate. Companies make money off kids' toys regardless of what types are encouraged. The purpose of gender roles for children is the same as it is for adults. If you condition them to behave in certain ways or meet certain expectations when they're young, it will be second nature by the time they're grown. There's no such thing as "boyish" or "girly" things. This is sexist stereotyping. The purpose of socializing males into masculinity and females into femininity is to encourage dominance and submissiveness in each group respectively so males will have a pool of compliant women to create their offspring and raise them. So yes, it's good to challenge this bias rather than reinforce it by saying, "Well, that's what they want". The question is, why do they want it? Probably to a large extent because it's what's offered to them and they want to fit in with their peers. Girls don't pop out of the womb liking sparkly things.
So we’re not to buy children items that are gendered norms, but when they “transition” all they have to show us are gendered norms
