Thank you so much For this tutorial. So helpful! I usually use the Wilton poppy cutters and a veiner but I just can't seem to get a more realistic looking poppy with those. I hope I can find this mould in Germany.
Good morning, thanks for the valuable lessons you provide to us and we learn a lot from them ..... Please answer my question about a comparison between gum paste made from gelatin and gum paste made from egg white .... and the shelf life of the dough made from it after shaping and drying
Hi we've replied to your other comment with the same question but if you've not seen that we will copy it here too: 'Hi, gumpaste with gelatin will not have the same elasticity as one made from egg white. Also you can’t freeze gelatine paste. There are commercial gumpastes that are vegan from Renshaw and Sugarin. If you're going to make from scratch I recommend the recipe in this video which is also contained in flower pro books 1/2/3'
Hello , do you think this petal shape would work for making anemone flowers ? Also how long and how would you go about storing sugar flowers that have been made in advance. Thank you very much x
Hi Aneta, we have contacted Chef Nicholas Lodge and he feels the poppy petal is too wide for anemone. He would either use the cymbidium orchid straight petal from the Flower Pro Ultimate Orchid mould th-cam.com/video/_5v8gXtJnOM/w-d-xo.html or the Flower Pro Blossoms Cutter, cut out and cut into 5 individual petals, wired and veined on Flower Pro Ultimate Petal Veiner, Peony mould or using Flower Pro Fan Veiner. For storage, so long as sugar flowers are kept away from moisture and direct sunlight you can keep for many months in advance. This is assuming the flower isn't intended to be consumed, since the flowers are made with wires and floral tape. When in storage be sure to keep in a container with tissue paper to keep safe and dust free. Hope that helps x

Is semolina the same stuff that you buy in grocery stores to make pasta? Excellent tutorial. I love poppies and just ordered this mould.
Yes it is the same stuff :)

Hello, this moulds can be found on our website which offers international delivery katysuedesigns.com/products/flower-pro-poppy-mould
Can you use a little vaseline instead of vegetable fat please.
My thought would be you would not use Vaseline. You should only use food grade items
