    Thanks for this review. Makes me want to go after another brand but, like you, we want matching appliances. Nice DIY’ing, by the way. 💪🏽

    Thanks for good review. I am looking an American made fridge to replace our Monogram which is now a Chinese company.

      Just two delivery people. Fortunately, my garage door into my home leads right into the area it needed to be. They used a dolly to bring it up about 4 steps. Once inside, it was easily moved using its wheels. The newer model has a much nicer interior.

    As much as I like the Ice and water dispenser you made a wise decision going without one at the door. I just bought this same fridge although mine was manufactured in 2011 but aside from the digital display and handles these fridges are the same underneath. The ice dispenser door was damaged on mine and I was able to fix it. The previous owner was remodeling and I just can't imagine the kind of fridge they got after they sold this one....I paid nowhere near the money you did but if I could've I would've .

    Thanks for the review. We are getting ready to replace our 20 yr old 48" built in Kitchenaid...it finally bit the dust! I am confused by the manual defrost....which is what is specified on this fridge. Can you elaborate on that? I also wish this fridge had a door alarm...there are many times when the door didn't close all the way on our old fridge and caused some cooling issues. Our fridge will be located right next to our built in double ovens which are Kitchenaid, so like you, we'd prefer to stay with the same manufacturer. Thanks again for the informative review!!

    • @imperfectperfectionist1911
      @imperfectperfectionist1911  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are no labeled buttons for manual defrost so i'm really not sure. I've been using the fridge for about 5 months and never performed a manual defrost or any other type of maintenance. This fridge does have a door alarm although I tried to purposefully use it but gave up. The doors are pulled shut from a spring so if the doors are less than 90 degrees open, they shut. Even if I open it a few inches, the spring will pull it completely shut so you probably won't have a problem with that. Kitchenaid was running a rebate special, the more appliances you bought, the more rebate you will get. I used some of that money to buy a 3yr extended warranty for some of the appliances i bought; fridge oven and beverage fridge. (The three most expensive items) hope this helps. PS: do a few internet searches for Kitchenaid rebates. When i got it, it wasn't readily/easily available on their website.

    Did that clip on the top grille panel come with it? I'm helping a friend repair his and I don't see it on the installation manual or any parts website.

      I'm not sure what you are referring to. Everything to make the fridge run and visually appear as advertised was provided. It's pretty much a freestanding fridge with cabinets and trim installed around it. It does not even mount to anything.

      @imperfectperfectionist1911  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are referring to the top of the fridge where it's open...? I have not finished installing the trim. There is a matching cabinet piece that will be installed there and cover it up then finished with crown molding.

    • @jamesparr1867
      @jamesparr1867 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No - I am referring to the width of the opening that the frame rests on…. The width needed to fit the fridge in flush and properly

    • @imperfectperfectionist1911
      @imperfectperfectionist1911  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jamesparr1867 I totally misread your original question, my bad. The width is about 47 5/8. The fridge has around 1/4" bezel wiggle room on each side. I was installing cabinets at the same time so I was able to move the right pantry cabinet to make it fit.

    We had this refrigerator for a year. KitchenAid is taking it back and replacing it because the freezer temperature wildly swings during defrost cycles.. so bad so that food thaws. We have had the service department out at least 6 times for this fridge. I highly recommend not going with KitchenAid
