Didn't see this in the comments yet, but reaction time DOES NOT change ET. Reaction time plays a big part in bracket racing, but you can sit there in the beams for 5 min, and still run an 8 second pass because how the timing works. Focus on your launch and don't even worry about the green light, go when you're ready.
I completely agree how you feel about your granny. My grandparents raised me when I left home at 16yrs old. There's no class to teach people how to be parents you gotta learn for mistakes and experiences. My mom is solid but weak at the same time. My dad has always been a provider but always mentally messed up for experiences in his past from a kid to a adult but he was always around. Mean as shit but he handled business. But when it comes down to unconditional love my grandparents gave me that. Even when I was fucking up and wanted to be in the streets. I live to take care of my family. I love myself but I can careless about me when it comes to taking care of my family. I take care of my moms parents my gampy and grandma. My dads parents been pasted on. I take care of my mom. And now I take care of my dad who I never thought I would have back in my life cause he was a straight asshole and old school strict he was born in 1945(I'm only 32 my oldest brother is 55. I'm the middle and the oldest children). But now he is my baby. Like he always said "I gave you a roof over your head clothes on your back and food in your stomach)". Don't remimber who told me this but I was told squat doesn't help on the strip you want your suspension to push the tires down away from the body for more grip on launch

Good thing you run the tires you do. I was scared you was gonna blow up the dif. If you fully grip up, you gonna definitely be fast, but might need a tougher rear. Glad you got out a had fun racing though.
People don't give drag racing enough credit and they don realize that there is an art to it. Looks like you need to launch at a slightly higher RPM to eliminate the bog, while slipping the clutch a little to keep wheel spin in check. Once you get your 60' under 2.xxx, you'll be in the 11's

You get better times if you’re running earlier in the day, because after the track has been used up there’s a lot more oil entire gunk on the track and you tend to spin out more on launch
Remember start with car already in 1st at the line, just like you taking off from a light. Use that sweet spot in the clutch. Another great video as usual.
Hmm, I was definitely expecting to see better times. Mid to upper 11's. I ran 12.8 in my 06 sti with only full tbe and tune. Never dyno'd but estimated about 280-300whp. Full interior and just some regular tires(dunlop direzza's).

I think the car can do 11's the chrome wheels are probably heavy unsprung weight holding you back. Think trying to run in Timberlands instead of Nikes.Also leave any unneeded items home be it subs, backseat etc. You'll get there but you also have to stop taking naps when you're at the tree.
gotta get that 60 ft dialed in. 2.2 on the 3rd run and 2.4 on the 4th is what killed it for you. trap speed is there. better tire setup and launch, and you're there. i wouldn't even been worried about going on green just yet. time doesn't start running until after you cross the line. also, like somebody else had mentioned, the gearing seemed very short on your trans as well. make sure you don't shift too early.
Its the tires bro will not get in the 11s dumping the clutch i gotta ride the clutch with smooth engagement plus a gear change in the diff would help to stay in 4th or raising the rev limit. Nit good job bruh Stay Up.
Mike get you a spare set of wheels with drag radials or slicks and just learn how YOUR suspension best adjusts for drag/launch. Should be able to work with what you have and just drag radials/slicks and hit MINIMUM high 11's with your power. Just practice launching with your drag tires in random parking lots or wherever. On no drag suspension what so ever (just regular street lowering springs and $400 shocks) I went from beginner just like you in this vid (hitting best of 13.55 in bone stock ls1 trans am with a best of 2.0 60ft spinning all day) to a pretty dam good drag driver with just a few weeks practice around my house area on drag radials (and installing a 3800 stall and 3.73 gears on my auto) getting consistent 1.6 60 fts and 12.7.... Again this was on 100% stock other than long tubes ls1. So 8 tenths faster with just tires, stall, gears and practice!
People always assume going in a straight line is easy..but this just goes to show its much more then that. At the end of the day at least you enjoyed yourself man. Practice practice!
First thing is get ride of the street tyre’s with no tyre wall... you be surprised how much time a drag tyre will get you, need tyre flex to get the power down. My worst time is 12.47 on 8inch wide nitto invos but the walls are 40%... hitting speed limiter buy 6-700ft and reacting time doesn’t effect your ET you can leave 5sec after the light got green and still run your 12
The dragstrip is fun fam. I was honestly expecting you to land in the high 11s I'm sure it's more than capable that 60ft will kill you. If you ever install a hydro when you plan to slide it Some people have the e brake help them launch at the strip. It worked when i went

to be fair it’s also not setup for drag at all lol. you need welds and MTs on the rear.
I think with a good tire and wheel you will be able to get a better 60ft. Smaller wheel and a taller drag radial

next time try like 18 psi 26 is a bit much probably a big factor in the spinning dunno what tire compound you run but obv a drag radial would help too
